Fair warning though, there will be a LOT of pictures in this post and I couldn't break it down into multiple posts without feeling like I was leaving something out.
Hot Pots are individual eyeshadow pots similar to MAC and MakeUp Geek. While those range in price from $5.99 for MUG to $10 for MAC, these retail for $1.95. That being said, Coastal Scents ALWAYS has some kind of sale going on and you can get these for under $1....which is when I tend to stock up on them. You can see in the picture above I have them in my CS DIY palette along with 2 MAC and one Urban Decay shadow(which are covered with the splatter brush so you can see just the CS ones. For the price, you can't really go wrong....even if you don't care for them. Which, there are a few that I'm not fond of so keep reading to find out which ones.

I completely forgot to mention that I took these pictures with my cell phone. I was having user errors with my DSLR and rather than toss it across the room I decided to put it down and just grab the phone. It was kinda awesome though since I can just yell at my phone and it snaps a picture.
Now to what they look like in the pan, and my thoughts.

What CS says: A sultry, brownish peach hue with a matte finish.
What I say: I chose this because I'm LOVING how orange, peach, and coppery shades look on my eyes. I felt this would be a better transition shade for me to pair up with those as it would have more than just flat brown. Thankfully it lives up to what I want AND it's wonderfully pigmented.

What CS says: Rustic, deep berry hue that delivers a matte finish.
What I say: It's more of a medium-deep reddish brown. I haven't really played around with this TOO much yet, though I did use it in an upcoming post...but this is absolutely fall smokey eye perfection to me. I can't wait to play around with this some more.

What CS says: Deep green shimmery.
What I say: It's like a deep shimmery teal. I love to wear this as bottom liner paired with neutral colors on the lid. LOVE it.

What CS says: True peach hue with a shimmer finish.
What I say: I saw one of the review comments stating this pulls more orange than peach. I wanted it either way, and boy am I glad I snagged it. It does pull more orange-y peach and looks amazing on my eyes I think.

What CS says: Vibrant fuchsia with an opaque matte finish.
What I say: I was slightly disappointed with this one. It's sheer, but buildable. That being said, it's probably WAY better over a base than on bare skin. I still like it though & can't wait to use it more.

What CS says: A rich, orange-red hue with a smooth, matte finish.
What I say: This is more of an orange-brown shade. Perfect, for me, as a transition shade in the crease. Absolutely LOVING it, and it's completely opaque and matte.

What CS says: A bright pink hue with a smooth, matte finish.
What I say: This one is one of the most disappointing of all that I have. It's uber sheer, though I have used it over a white base and it was a little better.

What CS says: A vivid yellow-green hue with a matte finish.
What I say: Over bare skin this looks almost like a nasty bruise, but better over a white base. I look forward to actually playing with it more.

What CS says: A lavish, deep brown hue with a shimmer finish.
What I say: I love this deep rich chocolate/coppery shade. It's perfect for my blue eyes for a variety of uses. Smokey eyes, crease color, liner, etc.

What I say: If you're looking for a super opaque, stand alone white...this isn't it. On bare skin you can barely see it, but this would look great over a white creamy base to set it and keep it from creasing. It could also look great as a highlight color. I was most disappointed in this shade, but I'll still work it in.

What CS says: A rustic reddish-orange hue with a matte finish.
What I say: Another lovely transition crease color. The description is pretty spot on with this opaque, pigmented, matte. It's got a little brown to it, but mostly reddish-orange.

What CS says: A siren red hue.
What I say: The picture of the pan doesn't do this one justice. In the pic of my palette, it shows more true. Such a vibrant red hue. Pigmented like crazy, I can't wait to wear this during college football season. It does look sorta orange in the swatch, but trust me it's a perfect red.

What CS says: A brilliant burst of green with a soft, matte finish.
What I say: This is a vibrant kelly, Kermit, green. I love how opaque this is and I can't wait to use this for St. Patrick's Day....and possibly Christmas.

What CS says: An explosive, reddish-orange hue with a matte finish.
What I say: Perfect description from them for this shade. I plan to play around with this when I want to do some more vibrant or sunset type eye looks. I think the opacity of this will be perfect.
Some are just meh, while most are perfection and just as good(in my opinion) as some of the mainstream eyeshadows I own. Bronze Peach, Tuscany, and Paprika all look kinda similar in the pan, but they are absolutely different shades/tones. If you skip any of these, I would probably skip Snow Bunny and Passion Fruit Pink.
Some of these I ordered in place of purchasing the Urban Decay Electric palette. While I don't have it to compare and see if they are dupes, I'm pretty happy with the ones I picked. I mean for $2(or under $1 when on sale) you really can't go wrong with any of these.
If you haven't tried anything from CS, I would suggest signing up for their e-mail list so you can find out as soon as they load their deals. Most of what I've purchased from them was during a 50% off Black Friday sale while most of these hot pots came from a recent $0.99 sale on all hot pots.
These would be great for your own collection or even for someone just starting out with makeup. It's inexpensive, good quality, and you can fully customize if you want.
