Hey y'all!  Today I have a quick post about my Spring Fling Vox Box.  I was going to do an unboxing video and a few other things, but I received it at a bad time a few weeks ago & have been distracted from really doing much in relation to the blog.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara - $5.99 -  I received this in Extreme Black, there are 3 shades available, and in the non-waterproof formula.  I haven't tried this yet because I have like 4-5 open mascara's in rotation right now in my mascara jar and I really don't want to open any more until I at least get rid of a few of those.  I will definitely put this in my backup pile for when I'm ready for it.

Kiss Everlasting French Nails - $6.49 - The pack I got is the standard french tip, but in a "real short" length.  Unfortunately, too short for me....so they're going in my giveaway pile.  I do like how they do have some in this line available for flat and regular nail arches as well as a few with designs over the french tip.

Peach Pie Car Freshener from the Labor Day Movie - I've been wanting to see the movie since I saw the previews, but I want to actually read the book first.  It's currently available though, so I need to get on that.  I keep forgetting to go put this in the truck....I LOVE peach anything.

Playtex Sport Fresh Balance - $3.99-$4.99 - I don't really have heavy flow issues, so I don't use tampons much....though I will keep them around for emergencies. :D

Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Lotion - $2.49 for 2.5oz or $10.99 for 13.5oz. - This is supposed to improve skin firmness in as little as 2 weeks.  I haven't been using it since I got it, but I did just massage some into my hands.  It is light and absorbs rather quickly without leaving a greasy feeling behind.  My hands feel soft, moisturized, and smell great.  It's got a light yet clean smell to it.  I don't know that I could see myself spending the money on it, but if I like it after continued use I'll keep an eye out for sales on it.

Softlips Cube - $3.49 - This is available in Fresh Mint, Vanilla Bean, and Pomegranate Blueberry(which is what I received).  The one I have smells great and not like fake berries at all.  If you've been around here for a while you know I'm obsessed with lip balms.  The first one I've actually finished completely, without losing it or trashing it, is the regular Softlips in the tube in the Jack Frosting scent that I stocked up on a few winters ago.  I keep the tubes all over the house and use them any time I feel like my lips are dry.  This feels much lighter than the tube formula & glides on just as easily.  The only difference I notice is that this has SPF15 while the tube has SPF20.  I'm definitely going to have to go snag a few of these in Vanilla Bean because I'm afraid my kiddo might steal this one from me.

Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics

As you may have read in my unboxing post for the SunVoxBox (HERE) I received a 4 pack of these Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics.

My main concern was that my hair wasn't long enough.  It's just past my chin, but the lower half in the back is still too short.  BUT I still can use and LOVE these. 

I keep them in a jar on my desk so I can use them when my curly hair starts getting on my nerves and in my face.  It holds my hair back without being painful and without pulling any hair out when I remove one. 

That's the back of my head....trying to get a pic like that on your own is a pain, but you can see it holds my hair.  And as it grows back out, I can see myself needing more of these to keep everywhere in my house, purse, vehicle, etc.

Sunkissed VoxBox - info & first impression

FINALLY, I got my package just the other day.  I'm kinda impatient when I know I have a package in transit & USPS was just killing me with this one.   There was an issue on their end, but it finally arrived.....if I went into detail it'd take up most of this post.  So, I'll just say I'm happy to have it and get on with it.  :D

Above is the 4 products I received.  I'll go post the product info from the card below and give you my first impressions on them.  Later, I'll do individual posts on some of them.

Dr Scholl's For Her $10.99 - Dr. Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles are clinically proven to help prevent foot pain caused by wearing high heels 2" or higher.  They offer immediate, long-lasting comfort and an ultra-soft gel arch to shift pressure off the ball of your foot.  They're proven to improve the way you feel in heels!

My Thoughts: I've tried some of these inserts before, but I think they were shaped differently.  The ones I had didn't really stick and weren't as big as these, so I hope these work better.  They feel nice and comfy in the package.  I'm not much of a heel wearer, but I do have some strappy heels that I wear when I dress up & plan to use these on those shoes.

SinfulShine™ with Gel Tech™ $2.99 - SinfulShine™ with Gel Tech™ technology provides opulent rich color and superb shine.  The 32 trend right shades are available for a limited time exclusively at Walgreens.  

My Thoughts: The shade I received is Devious which is a gorgeous true red.  I had to laugh at the name because it and the color are SO perfect for me.  I was so happy to get this as I've not been able to find these particular SC polishes at the Wags stores around me.  I just swatched it over a previously swatched red & so far I'm liking it.  I'll definitely go into more detail when I give it a full try out, but I'm impressed.

Olay Fresh Effects{BB Cream} Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 $12.99 - 24-hour hydration and a splash of sheer color.  This all-in-one skin perfecter, sunscreen, and tinted moisturizer evens tone and refreshes dullness, for flawless looking skin (available in two shades: fair/light and light/medium).

My Thoughts: I will definitely be doing a full test/review on this, but for now....It smells pretty nice, and blends well into my hand.  It does seem to be more of a tinted moisturizer and not BB cream/foundation like at all.  I'm not 100% sure how this will work on my face since it's the fair/light shade and my other BB creams are light/medium.  I've not been color matched, but through doing research, I think I'm a NC25.  Again, I'll definitely go more into this later.

My Thoughts: My hair is just barely long enough to partially pull up into a ponytail.  The back bottom half is too short, but I did give these a quick try with dry hair.  They feel nice around my wrist without feeling like it was cutting off circulation & wrapped nicely around my hair.  I'll have to try these with my hair wet as well, but I have a feeling I'll like it.  Especially as my hair gets longer, since I'm trying to grow it back out.  I pull my hair up often, when I'm able to.

Overall, this seems to be a pretty good box.  It's been a while since I've had one and I didn't have any products that were horrible right off the bat(I'm looking at you Love Vox Box that came with some questionable chocolate).  I can't wait to try these!

Influenster Mom VoxBox

I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in the Mom VoxBox.  I'll show you a picture of what I received as well as share my thoughts on the products.  :D

~ Quaker Soft Baked Cookie ($2.69 for a box of 6) - Enjoy Quaker's Chewy, soft-baked cookie in a family-favorite flavor!  With wholesome Quaker Oats, you'll never remember they came from their kitchen instead of your own.

• I LOVE oatmeal cookies, but wasn't too impressed with these.  When I think oatmeal cookie, I think moist & chewy.  While these were chewy, they were kinda dry.  I might purchase these again for the kiddo if I see them on sale & have a coupon.

~ imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway nails ($5.99 to $7.99) - Featuring advanced nail technology, now you can get a salon-perfect manicure in seconds - simply peel off, press on, and you're done.  There's no drying, a killer shine and a manicure that lasts up to a week!  Available in 36 colors and patterns.

• I received these in a previous VoxBox and wasn't impressed.  My nails are a slight bit wider and longer than these.  I would have to have serious nubbins and smaller nail beds to be able to wear these.  I think these would be perfect for teenagers though.  

~ Ivory Bar Soap ($4.27 for 10-pack bath size bars) - Ivory Bar Soap is 99.4% pure - so pure, it floats!  With no dyes or heavy perfumes, this product offers a simple, yet effective clean for the entire family at a competitive price.  Great as a face wash, laundry soap(chip soap flakes in the washer) and hand washing soap for delicate clothing.

• I used to use this, ages ago.  That was until my skin started hating it.  I started getting rash/break-outs so I stopped.  I was fine once I stopped using it.  I had to switch.  I gave this to my BFF to use, since they use Ivory in her home.  I'm afraid to attempt to use it to wash my clothes after how my skin reacts to it.

~ Stash Tea Superfruits Tea sampler($3.50) and Nektar Sweetener(no price listed) - Featuring Mangosteen, Goji Berry and Pomegranate Raspberry, Acaci Berry, Yumberry Blackcurrant and Blueberry. Nektar Naturals honey crystals to use as a natural sweetener.

•   I tried some Stash Tea in a previous box and LOVED it.  Same with this one.  The only thing that makes me sad is my fav flavor(cinnamon apple chamomile) isn't available in any stores around me and my local Publix stopped carrying Stash tea.  The only places I can find it are Kroger and the natural food markets.  Stash has turned me on to hot tea.  

~ DenTek Comfort Clean & Fun Flossers ($1.99 to $2.99 for full packs) - Fun flossers make flossing fun and are designed to encourage healthy oral hygiene at a young age, while Comfort Clean will help you to floss effortlessly & comfortably

• My kid has some Fun Flossers that were in his Christmas stocking and he absolutely LOVES these things.  I don't have to worry about strings of floss all over the bathroom or him trying to cut string and possibly himself.  They're handy & compact enough to keep in your purse and to travel with.  These will be a staple in my house.

Palmolive Fresh Sponge Dishwashing Kit - Mom VoxBox

I was luckily chosen to participate in the Mom VoxBox from Influenster and received a new product to try.  So, while I normally review beauty products and nail polish....I'm going to tell you my thoughts on this product. :D

USPS has been a bit slow with my packages lately, so it took me a while to get this....but it was worth it.  I happened to receive it the same day we had a small family dinner at my house which included bacon cheeseburgers.  So I got to test it right away.

This was my package.

Yes, that's a FULL size sample for review.  While I do have a dishwasher, there are some things I wash by hand.  That includes my pots & pans.  They're stainless steel and non-stick, so I'd rather do it by hand.  After we cooked 2lbs. of bacon, I poured the grease into a jar rather than down the drain(I always do this), and went to town trying out my new soap.  Now usually, it takes a while and some good scrubbing on my part to get the pan clean.  This time, it only took a little bit of this in some scalding hot water and a few swipes around the pan with the sponge to get it sparkling clean.

I was totally amazed.  The smell is awesome.  I can't quite nail down the scent, but I'd describe it as kinda fruity.  This also produces a TON of bubbles, so a little bit really goes a LONG way.  It also doesn't dry out my hands, which is important since I show them to y'all a LOT.

Influenster #lovevoxbox - Gillette Venus & Olay Razor

Today I would like to share my opinion/thoughts on the Venus & Olay Razor included in the Influenster Love VoxBox. 

When I opened it, I noticed a slight tropical smell.  I couldn't quite tell if it was coconut or cocoa butter.  Either way, it was light and pleasant.

I loved that it came with a little suctioned cup hook.  I have very little space in my shower and have a tall rack, but I'm a product hoarder so to speak and have little room.  I was a little concerned about knocking it off, so I put it on the wall near my shower door so I didn't have to worry and it didn't get soaked with water all the time.

I've used this 3-4 times on my legs and underarms and I can say it works quite well.  I like that I don't have to worry about having yet another product, shaving cream, in the shower.  The only downfall I have is that the moisture bars seem to disappear quickly.  Mine is on the verge of breaking off and I've not even used it that much.

While I like this product, I prefer the Venus Embrace and Venus Breeze over this one.

Love VoxBox item - Ghirardelli Creamy Devotion Chocolate

Today I'm sharing my review/opinion/thoughts on Chirardelli Creamy Devotion Chocolate from Influenster's Love Vox Box. 

I was really excited to try this.  I love Ghirardelli's brownie mix, but haven't really tried their chocolate yet.  When I received my VoxBox, the bottom was a tad bit warm.  Even though it wasn't warm outside when I received it, the box was.  So I felt the items as I pulled them out and the chocolate felt warm too.  What do you do when you have warm chocolate?  Put it in the fridge.  I'm not sure if this was the right thing to do or if I received a bad bar, because when I opened the package and went to break a piece off, I was terribly disappointed. 

That's what I saw.  It looked hollow.  And the chocolate tasted almost grainy.  Like all I was eating was chocolate powder & sugar.  Not smooth & milky at all.  So, I kept trying figuring maybe it would get better.....yeah, so didn't happen.

This last pic, the chocolate was missing off that portion of the wrapper.  I didn't remove any, it was just a big hole like that. 

Needless to say I didn't go any further.  I checked with a few other people who I knew received the box and theirs was fine.  Yummy in fact.  I hate that I received this in this condition as I really wanted to love it, but can't.

I actually can't wait to try everything in here.  I've used a Venus razor before, but never this one(of course it's new) and LOVED it.  I'm really not much of a hot tea person, but I will give it a try.  The SO might not get any of the chocolate, but he'll probably steal my tea from me.  LoL. 

I had to include this next pic because I wasn't using any lighting, but for some reason this one turned out red and & thought it was fitting for this box.

Influenster Holiday 2011 VoxBox

Whew, this month has been so crazy and I've been going non-stop pretty much.  I was so excited to be chosen to receive the Holiday Voxbox from Influenster.  When I opened my package I was kinda iffy on a few things and excited about most of them.  Rather than doing separate posts about everything I'm throwing it all in this one post.

What I think:  My packaging for this was completely smashed on the side.  These are cute and practical for a quick mani on a budget.  I have wider and longer nails than these are.  I also have a pinky nail that is more rounded and shaped weird because of that finger being slammed in a door when I was younger.  SO, these didn't really fit but maybe 1-2 of my nails.  I gave them to my sister to try.  She hasn't used them yet as she just got them, but they will fit her.


SOFTSOAP COCONUT SCRUB BAR SOAP

What I think:  I was thinking I'd receive 1 bar, but shocked when I saw 2.  I used this immediately.  I own the Softsoap Coconut & Warm Ginger hand soap and absolutely LOVE it.  Though I was disappointed when it didn't smell like that.  It doesn't really have a tropical smell that I associate with coconut.  I'm not really sure how to describe it, but it wasn't what I expected.  It does, gently, exfoliate though.  AND it makes my skin soft.  I will have to go smell the Sweet Honeysuckle & Orange Peel one to see if I like it.


MONTAGNE JEUNESSE FACE MASK
Montagnue Jeunesse's face masks are jam packed with the most delicious natural ingredients and are bursting with luscious juicy fragrances.  Influensters will receive one of the following flavors:  Strawberry Souffle, Cucumber Peel Off, Passion Peel Off, Dead Sea Mud, Fruit Smoothie.

What I think:  I received Passion Peel Off.  I usually don't use the Peel Off's as I always have issues actually peeling them off.  I've used some of the others that wash off and love them.  I've seen these at Wal-Mart and various drug stores.  For around $1 they work pretty well.


NEW YORK COLOR LIQUID LIP SHINE 
Straight from the city that never sleeps, New York Color's Liquid Lipshine is uptown style at a down-to-earth price.  With pure pigments that create a 3-D gloss effect and vitamin E that provides shine and moisture, this product is perfect to keep lips looking and feeling fabulous this season.  Comes in 10 shades from neutral nude, to berries & fuchsias.

What I think:  I was glad to receive this in Nude York City.  It's a wonderful neutral gloss, with an applicator that I've never seen before.  It's like the fuzzy stick applicator, but the end is flexible.  It adds a subtle hint of color with amazing shine.


MENTOS PURE FRESH GUM
We're sure you know Mentos, but did you know they have a sugarfree gum?  hether it's before a holiday party, date or meeting, pop Mentos Pure Fresh Gum for a quick refresh!  The crunchy outer shell conceals a green tea extract core that provides an immediate burst of coolness for long-lasting fresh breath.  Its unique container keeps gum protected in your purse!

What I think:  I'd just had some dental work done when I received this, so I gave it to the SO to use.  He chews gum like crazy and I knew he'd give me his honest opinion.  It was a little difficult for him to open, but when he popped a piece in I could smell it on the other end of the couch.  He was disappointed that the flavor didn't really last long at all, maybe 5-10 minutes, and that it "got small really fast". 


LARABAR
Made from only 2-9 ingredients, each LARABAR is a delicious blend of just fruits, nuts and spices.  Pure and simple just as nature intended.  Larabar comes in 19 delicious flavors.

What I think:  These are also gluten free.  I don't have that allergy, but I know some that do and this is a perfect snack for them.  I received mine in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.  Literally, the only ingredients are: Cashews, dates, unsweetened chocolate chips, and salt.  I was leery of it because I don't really care for dates, but I gave it a go.  It doesn't really taste like cookie dough.  It's soft and moist.  I actually liked it.  So much that I may even go purchase more with the coupon that was included.


GARDEN BOTANIKA LASH PRIMER
Take lashes from fine to fabulous.  Simply brush on bare lashes, let dry, then apply mascara.  Lengthens and thickens lashes; conditions them so they're healthier, too.  Small brush simplifies application.  Use with our application.

What I think:  This was a bonus product.  I've seen so many horrible reviews for lash primers before, but figured I'd try it anyway.  Let me tell you, I was totally amazed at how much I'm in love with this product.  I think this is the best new product I've tried ALL year.  This does apply white, and I could see it on the tips of my lashes.  I usually use 2 coats and let it dry before I apply my mascara.  The first time I noticed the added length and softness it gave my lashes.  I wore it Christmas day to my family dinner and my sister asked me what new mascara I was using.  She didn't believe I was using my usual stuff(which she doesn't like).  She commented that they looked way longer.  They almost go to my brows with this primer.  I will definitely purchase this when I run out and I want to try some of their other products now.



Overall, I'm extremely happy with the Holiday box.  Now I'm wishing I'd tried the Larabar sooner as I'm wanting more than the small bit.  What will you go try now?
