Neon Nike Flyknit Air Max Inspired Mani

Hey y'all!  Today is kind of a pictoral, if you will.  The post has a lot of pictures, but I took them after each step of this mani.  I was inspired by a pair of shoes I found on Pinterest, the Nike Flyknit Air Max

I started out with a base of Wet N Wild Black Creme.

Using a fan brush and I brushed Bundle Monster Angelic White(13) onto my ring and middle fingers.  This was to create a base for the colors in the next step to show up more and pop off of the black.

I cleaned off the fan brush while the white dried.  Then I took a few drops of  Funky Fingers Limelight(green), Highlighter(yellow), and Drop The Bass(orange) and placed them on a palette. Dipped the fan brush in each color to make a gradient on the brush, and swept it over the white.

While THAT dried, I grabbed Funky Fingers Glitter Explains It All and Glitter Matters.  I layered them both over the index and pinky fingers.  Just to add a little extra before topping it all off with Seche. I mean, you can't go wrong with glitter. :D

It's not exactly how I wanted it, but I absolutely love it.  I had to grab some macro shots of it too.

So what do y'all think?  I'm totally digging it & think it's the perfect way to wear neon's if you don't want to fully commit to wearing just a solid neon shade.

Black and White Pattern Skittles...with a pop of color

Hey y'all!  I use Pinterest a LOT for inspiration.  I have a private board where I throw things to look at when I'm drawing a complete blank.  I have several black & white patterns on it & sorta drew inspiration from it.

I used Wet N Wild French White Creme as a base with black acrylic paint and a brush to draw random patterns on each nail.

I liked it, but thought it needed a little more, so I grabbed a caribbean blue paint & filled in some of the spaces.

That blue just made it for me.  I think the shade is perfect and just what I wanted.

Prabal Gurung Spring 2014 Dress Inspired Mani

Hey y'all!  I saw this dress while browsing Pinterest one night and it completely inspired me to do some matching nail art.

Source Style.com

For this, I used Zoya Pixie Dust polishes in Dahlia and Stevie along with a black and a white polish.  This was super easy and quick to do.

I brushed 2 layers of Stevie onto the top half of my nails & then Dahlia onto the bottom half sort of overlapping and using the brush to drag a little of it over Stevie.

For my accent nail, I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White and a coat of Seche Vite.  Once that was dry, I taped the middle strip off and used the same method with the Pixie Dusts.  In order to do this quickly, so the tape didn't pull any of the texture polish off, I placed my finger in front of a fan for a few seconds to let it dry enough to apply more than one coat of each for opacity.  Then I just took a tiny brush and drew strips on the sides with Wet N Wild Black Creme.

What do y'all think?  I really love it.

Purple Grungy Wood

I apologize in advance as this may be a long post.  Also, I took the pictures with my phone since it's difficult for me to photograph my right hand with my DSLR. Here's a sneak peek of my end result.

Top = left, Bottom = right

The inspiration from this mani came from Pinterest.

I saw this picture and instantly thought of THIS mani from Nails Adored (hint: click that link to see her tutorial).

Now what I used:
Left to right: Zoya Monica, Zoya Mira, OPI Done Out In Deco, China Glaze Mahogany Magic, & Essie Sand Tropez.  I followed her tutorial exactly & for my left hand used these polishes as pictured above, starting with a base of Zoya Monica....and so on.

bottle is Monica

Outside with flash.

Then, I attempted just the opposite with my right hand.  It was slightly difficult as I'm right handed & always horrible at painting that hand, so please excuse the mess.  By opposite, I mean I used the colors above in reverse order.  I started with a base of Essie Sand Tropez & worked backwards.

I actually like it both ways & will definitely be trying this mani again.  What do y'all think?
