Target Beauty Box

Hey y'all!  Today I have the most recent beauty box from Target to share my thoughts on.

When I saw people posting all over social media about this, I almost didn't get it.  That is until I saw what was in it.  I've actually skipped the last few, but this just called to me.

I liked the little card as soon as I opened it.  The back of it has the product list as well as some info about each.  The even better thing is there was a $3 off $15 coupon included.  So, I paid $5(plus tax) for the box, get some great products to try out, AND get a coupon.  HECK YEAH!

I haven't had a chance to play with everything yet, but keep an eye out for a review or empties post when I do.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set -  It is a lightweight spray that locks-in your makeup for all-day extended wear.  This retails upwards of $17-$18, but it's $13.99 at Target, and this is a FULL SIZE!  It's the entire reason I even bought this box. I have horribly oily skin, and I'm hoping I love this as much as the reviews I've seen.

Tresemme Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray - Achieve maximum hold without stiffness or stickiness. Sprays on dry.  I haven't tried Tresemme hair spray in a while, so I can't wait to use this.  It's travel sized too, so it's perfect to throw in the purse when I need it.

SheaMoisture Superfruit Complet 10-in-1 Renewal System Shampoo - Sulfate free, antioxidant-rich shampoo helps to renew vibrancy for dull, lackluster hair.  I've really wanted to try this brand for a while, as I've heard great things from fellow curly girls, so this is perfect for me.  It smells amazing and I actually tried it today & really like it.  I'll keep y'all updated on it.

Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational Lip Color - A trio of concentrates delivers the color of a lipstick, the care of a balm, and the shine of a gloss.  The shade I received is Rose Redefined, a medium pink tone.  This was the other full size product & I'm looking forward to playing with it.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream - Non-greasy, skin quencher instantly absorbs like a gel, but intensely moisturizes like a cream.  This says for extra dry skin, which I have SUPER oily skin.  Even though it says non-greasy I gave it to my neighbor to try & see if she likes it.  I'm currently reviewing a skin care line and didn't want to affect anything by trying something new.

So that's it.  I believe that the products were the same for everyone, but maybe the lip color shades were different.  If you got one, please let me know your thoughts and what shade you got.

L'Oreal - The Holographic

Hey y'all!  While I was recently pulling a few untrieds out of my basket I decided to put this one to use.  I layered this over OPI Girls Love Ponies from the Ford Mustang collection that was released last year.

In the bottle this appears to have like a blue/purple/green shift flakie.  However, when it went on the nail, they seemed to look more yellow/blue.

I figured this would look great over the pink base, but boy was I wrong.  I only applied one coat because they seemed to disappear.

I don't know if it's because I found this hidden at WalMart way after it had originally been released or if it's the quality of the polish itself, but I'm not impressed.  In fact, this is going into my donate pile.  I have other flakie polishes that look a million times better than this one.

Masked Affair & Leadlight Hearts

Hey y'all!  Today's mani is one of the easiest that I've done lately.  This was actually my Valentine's mani, BUT I didn't get a chance to work on the post until now.

I used a few different techniques, which have a few different methods, so the easiest thing would be to search & see what is easiest for you as mine would just be horrible from not taking step-by-step pictures.

Starting off with 3 coats of L'Oreal Masked Affair, I wanted to keep the holo as much as possible.  So, I just layered 1 coat of Sally Hansen Water Melon(pink sheer jelly) over all my nails with exception to my ring finger.

Then I used my Red Angel #114 plate and the Bundle Monster stamping polish in #21 Electric Pink along with Verity Deep Violet(filling in the hearts) to make a leadlight stamping decal.

I couldn't stop staring & had to take pictures in my car while out shopping.  I love that the jelly didn't take away from the holo and actually tinted it to look a little more purple.  I'll definitely be layering more jelly polishes over my holo's to give them a little something extra.

For my first time trying the leadlight technique I'm super happy with how this turned out.  Even better is that it was my first successful stamping decal too.

What do y'all think?

L'Oreal Masked Affair

Hey y'all!  Today I have the latest elusive beauty from L'Oreal to show ya.  I STILL haven't seen the display in any of my local stores.  I've even driven to other cities with no luck.  Thankfully, a friend who lives a little north of me found one for both of us at her grocery store.

I'll admit, I was kinda thinking at first that I wouldn't need this because I have SO many silver holo's and even have 2 bottles of the gorgeous Orly Mirrorball.  Even after seeing a few bad reviews, I thought I'd pass, but still wanted to at least give it a try.

This isn't just silver, it's more lavender.  I had no problems with application either.  I did have to use 3 coats, so I would suggest maybe layering it over top of a gray or silver (maybe even purple) shade to conserve it if you wish.

I have a post coming up soon using this as my base so be sure to keep an eye out for that. :D

Do you own this shade or did you have a difficult time trying to find it too?

L'Oreal Pink Shells!!

Today I have a lovely pink color for you.  I've had this on my toes for weeks and don't want to take it off.  This is from L'Oreal's Summer Siren collection and I picked it up a month or so ago at Rite Aid on clearance.

I was working on my new "swatch wheel" to get all of my colors together and decided to swatch this on my nails real quick.

This is a beautiful bright metallic like pink.  I absolutely LOVE it.

L'Oreal's Caught Red-Handed

First off, LoL at the name.  I don't remember when or where I picked this up, but I'm guessing it was around Christmas time just because of the color.  In searching for other blogs, someone made a post recently that this has been discontinued.  I don't know if it has or not, but I did check the L'Oreal website and it's still there.

Now....the pic on L'Oreal's website make this look like a pink shade and I dunno why.  To me, it's a red with sort of a golden shimmer in it.  I really like this color though I made a mess while applying it.  2 coats were just fine and these pics were taken without a top coat.

I think the only time I saw the gold shimmer was in the last pic on the middle finger.  You can see it just at the bottom of the nail with the sun hitting it.  I really love this color though I don't wear it often.

You can also check out Pailette's blog post to see her opinion and pics on this shade as well.

From my Christmas Stocking....

So, I'm finally getting around to showing y'all what I got in my stocking.  I totally forgot to bring some of the stuff in to take a better pic, so the first one I'm posting is the one I took the day of Christmas with my iPhone.  Of course, I picked everything out and there was also some candy, but this was more important at the time.  :D  SO....I'm kinda finding pics off the internet to show what each item looks like up close.

EOS Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew: LOVE this balm, but not overly in love with this scent.  I prefer my Summer Fruit one which stays on my desk.  This one will stay on my night stand.  I believe I got this at Walgreens.

LA Colors blush in Pink Blush (BSB332):  I got this at Dollar Tree.  I'd never heard of this brand until I saw some YT vids from EleanorWhoLaughsAlot.  I really like this color and a little goes a long way.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black:  I really like this mascara.  I kinda wish I'd tried this BEFORE I purchased my ELF eyelash curler, but I can still use them both.  With this I DO NOT need to curl my lashes at all.  Not that I don't have like 15 different mascara's, but hey I like it.  Most of them were free from Sephora for redeeming 100 points.  I got this at Walgreens & it was cheaper than anywhere else at the time.

I think the one I have is called Crystal.

LA Colors Brilliant Shine Glitter Gloss:  Another one from Dollar Tree.  I've not tried this yet, but thought it was cute.  It has no "name", but I just opened it & it smells like bubble gum!  WOOT!!

LA Colors Shimmering Loose Eyeshadow with brush in Snow White(BES400) & in Black Pearl(BES405):  Dollar Tree again!  I haven't opened the white one, but the black I have.  It's kinda like those other mineral like drugstore eyeshadows with the brush.....VERY MESSY.  I purchased some small containers from Wal-Mart today to "depot" these for easier use.  The brushes on these are beyond crappy, the product goes everywhere, and it's just horrible.  I'm hoping to like them once I put them in small jars.

ELF 2 in 1 conditioning gloss in Plumtastic:  This is normally $3, and I found it at Dollar Tree.  I threw it in the basket.  I haven't tried it yet, but figured for $1, it's still better than $3.  Really, I just wanted the color.  The reviews on it are mixed as the color is separate from the clear gloss.  I'm sure I'll let y'all know what I think when I do try it.

Maybelline Green Coverstick Concealer:  I occasionally have some redness and green is supposed to counteract redness.  This works, though I have to use it under liquid foundation.  I got this at Walgreens.

ELF Minty lip Gloss in San Diego(reddish color) & Los Angeles(pink):  Another $3 product I found at Dollar Tree.  My sister picked this up at Target in TN for $3 and I believe she got Boston.  She LOVED it.  I am in love with these too.  I will have to get more and will definitely check Dollar Tree before I check Target.  It starts out minty and tingly then tastes kinda sweet (and not minty) later.

L'Oreal Extra-Intense liquid pencil eyeliner in Plum:  I blogged that this is a recent fav & I found this too at Dollar Tree.  I since found out this shade is discontinued & went back to Dollar Tree to find it with no luck.  I'll have to try another few stores around here.  This eyeliner is like a soft creme in a pencil & the purple I'm totally in LOVE with.  I'd never used purple eyeliner before this & now I'm hooked.  I'm wearing my ELF Creme Eyeliner in purple right now with this on my waterline.

Lastly we have NYC nail polishes....I'll post a pic below because I have a few & don't want to use individual pics for each shade.  I haven't tried these yet because I'm waiting on my Zoya stuff to come in.  I can tell you that the pic below has one shade, Big Money Frost #118, that was picked up at a later date with some Pure Ice polishes and I totally forgot I didn't get them with my Christmas stuff. Anywho, we have....Purple Pizzazz Frost #133, French Tip White #134, Empire State Blue #140, the green color, and White Lights Glitter #101A.  I am excited to get to try these and once I do, I'll post swatches and stuffs.  These were purchased at Wal-Mart for like $0.94 which is a lil bit less than ELF.  Not to mention there's more shades than ELF has.

The pic above was taken with my cam, sorry for the flash.  I may do a blog/pic post of all of my nail polishes once my Zoya stuff comes in.

Overall, I'm happy with the things I picked out & really shocked at how much I like most of it.  Especially since all but 3 items were $1.00 or less.  I forgot to mention the toe separaters(sp?) from the Target dollar bin, and the hat/headband things from Wal-Mart that were like $1.00 or $1.50.

TOODLES Y'ALL!!!
