Olay Fresh Effects - Dew Over Review

Hey y'all!  Today I have an amazeballz moisturizer to tell you about.  Growing up I remember using the standard Olay moisturizer every time I visited my grandmother.  It was all she ever used.  So when I became an adult & started learning how to take care of my skin I was super sad to learn that it irritated my skin.

I ended up grabbing this along with the Out Of This Swirled and got a really good deal.  As with that product, I was kinda afraid that this wouldn't work well for my skin.  The reviews I saw didn't help much, so I went ahead anyway.  Boy am I glad that I did.  There's only one negative that I even have about this product, but I'll get to that later.

This comes in a jar with 1.7 oz of product and the MSRP is $12.99.  Inside is a lid to help keep the product fresh.  While this says it's a gel, it feels and looks more like a cream.  It's thin, lightweight, and oil free.  Most oil free moisturizers make my oily skin look greasy, but not this.  This is formulated with a powder to help it absorb quickly and make skin appear less oily.

Don't make the word powder fool you, it doesn't make your skin look powdery.  I'd say it looks like you've just applied something with a satin finish.  And it does absorb super fast.  My skin seems to drink this stuff up.  I do still have a little oil production throughout the day, but it's usually way later than usual.  Using this in conjunction with the cleanser has helped my skin tremendously.

Fewer breakouts, less oily skin, and my makeup goes on easily.  In fact, I'm loving this so much that I'm already on my 2nd jar.  It does have a slight floral scent, as it includes honeysuckle and white tea essence, but it's not irritating to my face.  It's so light that most days I don't even notice that it has a scent.

If you have oily skin, and nothing has worked, I highly suggest trying this out.  The ONLY negative that I even have about this is that it's in a jar.  I hate sticking my fingers, even if they are super clean, into a product.  I feel like most of it gets stuck under my fingernails and is wasted.

Have you tried any of the Olay Fresh Effects products?

Olay Fresh Effects - Out Of This Swirled Review

Hey y'all!  Today I have a new favorite cleanser that I've been using for the past few months.  Dare I call it a holy grail product?  However, this doesn't just function as a deep pore cleanser it exfoliates as well.

I found a great deal on this a while back & purchased it before even doing any research.  With my skin being a tad bit sensitive and UBER oily, I tend to look at reviews before buying anything.  I also tend to look to see where I can get the best deal first, but something made me snatch this up.  I figured that if I found it wouldn't work for me that I could just go ahead and return it, but if it turned out to be a wonderful product that I'd kick myself for not grabbing it at a steal.

As soon as I got home, I looked at a few videos and websites, but nothing stated what skin type this worked for.  So, I went ahead and took the plunge.  This is available in 3 different scents (I think the scent is the only difference in the products) and the one I got is Honeysuckle & White Tea.  It does have a light floral scent, but after using this for a few months I don't even notice it anymore.  It doesn't seem to irritate my skin either.  That's just one of the many reasons that I'm obsessed.

As you can see, this product is swirled.  Those are moisture rich swirls and exfoliating microbead ribbons.  Unlike most exfoliators, this has teeny tiny microbeads that you can barely even feel.  They seem to do the job without making it feel like you're using sandpaper or ground nut shells on your face.

On the top of the bottle is a pump, and one pump is all you need.  One amazing feature of the packaging is that as you use the product there's a disc that forces the product up from the bottom.  So you're getting every last bit of cleanser out of this and not wasting anything or having to cut it open to get the last few uses out.  This was included in my monthly empties for December, so you can see there how it actually looks when empty.  I was only half way through that bottle before buying this 2nd one that I'm on now.  I may even try the other scents.

Now about that holy grail status.  I've been using this daily for a few months.  While I do still have a little oil production throughout the day, it's not nearly as bad as it usually is.  I have found a few other things that work well for my particular skin, but none that exfoliate as well.  So I get that double whammy of a deep clean with light exfoliation that is gentle enough to use daily.  Best of all, it's oil free.  I would still suggest using a makeup remover before using this at the end of the day as it's not the best at breaking down some of that stubborn stuff like eyeliner or mascara.

I can't say how this would work for other skin types, but I can say that I feel this is great for oily skin.  Especially when used in conjunction with a moisturizer that I will have a review of up soon.  My skin isn't perfect, but it looks and feels way better than it has in a long time.

This bottle is 5 fl oz. and the MSRP is $5.99.  You can see more info(or even purchase) HERE on the Olay website.  I've also seen this in most retail location where the Olay Fresh Effects products are sold.  I plan to start stocking up on this.

What is your favorite cleanser? Olay Product?

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream #SunVoxBox

**products in this post provided by Influenster for testing purposes**

Today I have another Sunkissed VoxBox product to tell y'all about.  The Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer with Sunscreen(15 SPF) in Fair to Light.

Finish your daily beauty regimen with the all-in-one solution with 6 skin perfecting benefits:

• Refreshes skin instantly
• Brightens for a radiant glow
• Evens tone with a splash of sheer color
• Hydrates for 24 hours
• Smoothes for softer feeling skin
• Protects against UV damage with SPF 15

I'm always honest with my posts and this is no different.  I've used this a couple of times & this product just isn't for me.  I'll tell you why......

I applied this to the right half(or on the left side of the pic) of my face and left the other half bare.  I used my fingers to apply this on freshly cleaned skin.  I have yellow tones and this comes out pink.  I have extremely oily skin, and while this does absorb quickly into the skin, it instantly makes me look like a grease face.

As you can see here, this is my full face with just the BB Cream on.  I used my phone to show time for the purpose of this review.  Even though the left side of my face looks kinda matte, it isn't.

Here I am almost 2 hours later, and the oilyness on my face is 10 times worse.  Not the worst I've ever had, but pretty bad.

So, I took a tissue to blot....
That's right, some of the product came off.  I know it says to reapply at least every 2 hours, but whoah.

For the purpose of this review, I wore nothing BUT the BB Cream.  I actually have to admit that when I wore it before with a full face, including powder to set and help keep shine down it was actually worse.  My face looked like I squirted oil all over it, my mascara transferred & made me look like I had raccoon eyes, and some of it slid into my eyes making them burn.

As with most American BB Creams, this is (to me) basically a tinted moisturizer...nothing more.  I know the packaging says both, but it's not a cream.   It's extremely sheer.  I don't think it covered any imperfections, evened tone, or smoothed.  It also has a slight smell that I can't really pinpoint, but I think it's slightly floral.

I think this product would work much much better for someone with dry skin, as it does moisturize and brighten the skin.  I also think that if this had worked for me, that the light to medium would have worked better for my NC25 skin.

If you have dry skin, go give this a try.  You can find this at www.olayfresheffects.com and http://www.amazon.com for around $12.99.

Sunkissed VoxBox - info & first impression

**products in this post provided by Influenster for testing purposes**

FINALLY, I got my package just the other day.  I'm kinda impatient when I know I have a package in transit & USPS was just killing me with this one.   There was an issue on their end, but it finally arrived.....if I went into detail it'd take up most of this post.  So, I'll just say I'm happy to have it and get on with it.  :D

Above is the 4 products I received.  I'll go post the product info from the card below and give you my first impressions on them.  Later, I'll do individual posts on some of them.

Dr Scholl's For Her $10.99 - Dr. Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles are clinically proven to help prevent foot pain caused by wearing high heels 2" or higher.  They offer immediate, long-lasting comfort and an ultra-soft gel arch to shift pressure off the ball of your foot.  They're proven to improve the way you feel in heels!
My Thoughts: I've tried some of these inserts before, but I think they were shaped differently.  The ones I had didn't really stick and weren't as big as these, so I hope these work better.  They feel nice and comfy in the package.  I'm not much of a heel wearer, but I do have some strappy heels that I wear when I dress up & plan to use these on those shoes.

SinfulShine™ with Gel Tech™ $2.99 - SinfulShine™ with Gel Tech™ technology provides opulent rich color and superb shine.  The 32 trend right shades are available for a limited time exclusively at Walgreens.
My Thoughts: The shade I received is Devious which is a gorgeous true red.  I had to laugh at the name because it and the color are SO perfect for me.  I was so happy to get this as I've not been able to find these particular SC polishes at the Wags stores around me.  I just swatched it over a previously swatched red & so far I'm liking it.  I'll definitely go into more detail when I give it a full try out, but I'm impressed.

Olay Fresh Effects{BB Cream} Skin Perfecting Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 $12.99 - 24-hour hydration and a splash of sheer color.  This all-in-one skin perfecter, sunscreen, and tinted moisturizer evens tone and refreshes dullness, for flawless looking skin (available in two shades: fair/light and light/medium).
My Thoughts: I will definitely be doing a full test/review on this, but for now....It smells pretty nice, and blends well into my hand.  It does seem to be more of a tinted moisturizer and not BB cream/foundation like at all.  I'm not 100% sure how this will work on my face since it's the fair/light shade and my other BB creams are light/medium.  I've not been color matched, but through doing research, I think I'm a NC25.  Again, I'll definitely go more into this later.

Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics $3.99-$4.99 - The embodiment of fashion and comfort from America's #1 elastics brand, the new Ouchless Ribbon Elastics are the pretty solution to hot summer hair days.
My Thoughts: My hair is just barely long enough to partially pull up into a ponytail.  The back bottom half is too short, but I did give these a quick try with dry hair.  They feel nice around my wrist without feeling like it was cutting off circulation & wrapped nicely around my hair.  I'll have to try these with my hair wet as well, but I have a feeling I'll like it.  Especially as my hair gets longer, since I'm trying to grow it back out.  I pull my hair up often, when I'm able to.

Overall, this seems to be a pretty good box.  It's been a while since I've had one and I didn't have any products that were horrible right off the bat(I'm looking at you Love Vox Box that came with some questionable chocolate).  I can't wait to try these!

I hope everyone has a wonderful July 4th holiday!!!
