Coastal Scents EOTD

Hey y'all!  Super quick post today.  Shortly after I got my most recent order of Coastal Scents Hot Pots, I decided to play around with a few.  You can see my swatches here

Unfortunately, I didn't make a list of what I wore other than everything on my eyes....so that's why I titled this an EOTD.  I quite like the combo and have received MANY compliments on it.

Now for the rundown:

Primer (DOH!, forgot to note which one)
Essence Stays No Matter What Eye Pencil in Whipped White Frosting over the lid only
CS Bronze Peach blended into the crease
CS Paprika blended over Bronze Peach
CS Georgia Peach all over the lid
CS Rich Walnut lightly blended into the outer V
Ulta Naked on the browbone

For my liner, I first applied Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in Brown then applied CS Burnt Umber over it.  I did this for the top and bottom liner.  Then I finished up with Maybelline Falsies mascara and Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Medium Brown.

So what do y'all think?  I'm absolutely LOVING it with my hair & eye color.  I feel I could pull this off year round.

Bright hair gradient PLUS glitter and stamping

Hey y'all.  So yesterday I posted the base for this mani, which was inspired by a friends new haircolor(s).  Today I added a little bit to it and hope you like.

It was screaming for some glitter, but I couldn't think of a color that would look over it.  Then I remembered I have Salt N Peppa from Polish Me Silly(formerly Lush Lacquer) that I won in a giveaway ages ago and keep forgetting about.  It applied super easily & laid flat under the coat of Seche.

It took forever to decide on a design to stamp on the accent nail and I finally settled on this one from my RA-107 plate by Red Angel using Wet N Wild Black Creme.

Then I decided to grab my phone and take a few macro shots.  BTW, if you have a Galaxy S4, THESE are the lenses I have.  You can't use them with a case on the phone, but they work rather well...especially for just over $10.

So what do y'all think?  I actually need to start using that glitter more!

Gradient inspired by BRIGHT hair

Hey y'all!  So today I have a mani that I did inspired by hair.  A friend I grew up with recently bleached her hair(which ended up yellow) then the slapped some bright colors on it to form an ombre/gradient(whatever you want to call it).  It totally suits her personality and I immediately had to do some nails to match.

This is what I came up with.

cell phone pic in light box
I originally tried to sponge the gradient on, but because some of the colors were too sheer it didn't work out well.  I had to brush them on.

I started out with a base of Ulta Sun-Sational, I thought it was the only yellow that I owned, but I found another AFTER I finished this.  Then I brushed on Deborah Lippmann Between The Sheets to cover about 3/4 of the nail.  Once that dried a little, I went a little further down and brushed on Deborah Lippmann Call Me Irresponsible.  Lastly, I finished it off with Revlon Royal on the tips.

Now, her hair goes from that bleached yellow color(since her hair is naturally DARK) to pink to purple....and the ends look sorta purple-y blue.  That was the reason behind my color choices.

I really love this.  It's bright and fun.  Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what I do to make it even better.

Ulta Maine Attraction

Anyone else notice there's very few swatches online for Ulta polishes?  That being said, I picked this up a few months ago with my Ulta Rewards points.  I have a few Ulta polishes, but this is the first one I've purchased with the new bottle.

Not sure how much I like the bottle, but I like the color.

Maine Attraction is a dusky sea green shade(at least IMO).  I had to use to coats and the second coat was a pain to smooth out.  It probably didn't help that I was watching a movie while applying this and totally missed a few spots and didn't do any clean-up.  The pics below have no top coat.

I really like this shade.  I actually had to look up a few things to come up with my description since there were really no swatches.

Ulta In-Carnation

Swatching this just so I know what it looks like & all that jazz.  :D

I picked this up at Ulta a few months back on clearance as a filler item so I could get to $10 and use my coupon.

In-Carnation is a pretty Barbie-esque pink frost with a slight silver shimmer to it.  It went on great in just 2 coats.  Though I kinda messed up my pinky and had to add another coat before I snapped pics so it looks horrible.  I tried to cover it up. :|

With flash.

I think it's a pretty color, but maybe will just use it on my toes during the summer.

My first Ombre

I decided to try an Ombre mani.  I wanted it to be all creme colors rather than sparkly ones which I seem to have more of, or glitters, or duochromes, etc.  And, as I glanced through, I found 5 purple cremes.

L to R: Ulta Devious, Zoya Mira, Color Club Uptown Girl, Maybelline Goody Plum Drop, Zoya Marley

This is 2 coats of each shade with ChG Fast Forward Top Coat.  I didn't notice until application that Goody Plum Drop seems to have a slight shimmer to it, but not too noticeable.

Thumb: Ulta Devious
Index: Zoya Mira
Middle: Color Club Uptown Girl
Ring: Maybelline Goody Plum Drop
Pinky: Zoya Marley

Then I wanted to see what it looked like with ChG Matte Magic on top
You can't really see too much of a difference on Marley, but it's still pretty.  Then, I freehanded a french of ChG Fast Forward on the tips.

What do y'all think?
