World Of Warcraft - Dread Wastes inspired nails

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know I've recently closed my WoW account.  I've been playing for years and have taken breaks before, but never just closed it.  I've just been so stinking bored with it lately for several reasons that I'm not going to babble about.

While I was playing a few weeks ago & picking herbs for Inscription, I tilted the camera angle up by accident when moving my mouse and noticed the beautiful sky in Dread Wastes.

Isn't that just amazing?

I didn't go for perfection when attempting this as I was just simply inspired by this.

macro shot
I started out with a base coat + 2 coats of Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.  Then I grabbed my acrylic paints that I reviewed HERE from Born Pretty Store.  Don't forget if you want to try these, click the link on the blog post or my right sidebar and use my discount code. :D

For the purple, I mixed a bunch of colors together....Phthalo Blue, Crimson Red, Black, Titanium White, and Ultramarine.  For the charcoal, I just mixed Titanium White and Black.

I then had a happy accident, which I was unable to recreate, when applying the purple.  I did have a damp brush when I dipped into the purple to brush it on and it kinda did the OPI Spotted effect.  Then I brushed on some black strips/branches & applied a little bit of purple over some spots.

Once that all dried, which wasn't long, I finished it off with my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.

I think it looks smokey and almost snakeskin like.  What do y'all think?

Iron Man nails with Kawaii Nail Lacquer

Today I have another one of the polishes I picked up last month from Kawaii Nail Lacquer.  My kid watched me to this mani and let me just say he loved it.

I wanted the base of this to look like the Arc Reactor in Iron Man's chest.  So I started out with MaxFactor Odyssey Blue(which I showed yesterday) and sponged a little bit of Color Club Lumin-Icecent in the middle of each nail.

Then I applied 1 coat of Kawaii Nail Lacquer Iron Man & finished it off with a top coat.

Description from the Etsy shop: "Iron man has fine red glitter, more red bar glitter with big red hexagon pieces, with fine holo gold glitter with orange hexagons and orange bar glitter."

This applied beautifully and isn't annoyingly packed with bar glitter.  As you can see, I got a lot of each of the glitters with just one coat and didn't have to blot anything on.

When I finished this mani, I turned around to show the kiddo and his jaw dropped to the floor.  As you may have seen from a few previous posts, he's a HUGE Iron Man fan.  I told him I will be recreating this again when we go see Iron Man3 when it comes out in May and he was all excited.

I will definitely be getting more Kawaii polishes in the future and you should too.

This retails for $9.00 in her Etsy shop.  You can shop HERE or visit her Facebook page HERE

Star Wars Day with Victorian Disco Cosmetics

I apologize for not getting this up sooner, but I felt like poo yesterday.  As any of us geeks know, today is May 4th, also known as Star Wars Day.  I recently ordered and received some shadows from Victorian Disco Cosmetics and only thought it appropriate that I wear some today.

So, I'll show you what I got and swatches before my face.

Mini Jar's: Wookie Noises, Millennium Falcon, Skywalker, & Health Pack.  Baggies: Symmetrical Garden, Ewok Pajama Party, & Emperor  (Click links to see color descriptions)

Close-up's of the mini jar's.

I swatched these on bare skin.  Amazing color payoff.  Even better over a primer and/or primer/base.

Now to my eyes & face....

Eyes:
  • UDPP - Original
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo - Tough As Taupe (lid slightly into crease)
  • VDC - Emperor (lid)
  • VDC - Millennium Falcon (crease and lower lash line)
  • VDC - Skywalker (Brow/highlight)
  • Josie Maran Raven Eyeliner
  • Garden Botanika Lash Primer
  • Maybelline Falsies Mascara - Blackest Black
  • Maybelline Define-a-brow - Medium Brown
Face:
  • Maybelline FIT Me Foundation - 115
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Translucent
  • Coastal Scents 10 blush palette - used 2 diff pinks
  • Brazen Cosmetics - Goodbye To You Eye Brightener - Light
  • ELF HD Powder
Lips:
  • Concrete Minerals Sexy Lips Lip Tint - Karma

Overall, these shadows are amazing.  As with most mineral shadows, a little goes a long way.  As I mentioned with the swatches, the color payoff is awesomesauce.  For some reason, my camera didn't pick up the sparkle in Emperor, but it's there. Prices are $1.00(for baggies),  $2.00(for 1 gram mini jar's), and $4.50(for a full size 2 gram jar). All products are hand mixed, vegan, and cruelty free.  She also lists on each product if it's lip safe or not.

I will definitely be ordering MORE from VDC.   I absolutely MUST have the Azeroth Collection....or at least a few of them.  Such as Exodar Waffle House, /Flex, Hero Class, Mojo, Shadowform(love my spriest), Aura, The Earth Warder(black&red are my fav colors), The Great Lift, Undercity, Wintergrasp, Zangermarsh, For The Alliance(alliance FTW!), Shepard's Gate, Under The Outland Skies.  And I definitely must own the lipgloss in Buffs Plz! though they're all beautiful.

Be sure to check out her shop and get some amazing colors.

LATER Y'ALL & MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!!!

Note:  All products in this post were purchased by me.  With exception to the Garden Botanika primer which was part of an Influenster VoxBox and the Concrete Minerals Lip Tint which I won from a twitter giveaway.  All opinions are, as always, my own.
