My Birthday mani with Buy Me A Drink & a MandyFranken :D

Tuesday was my birthday.  People say a lady never reveals her age, but I've never claimed to be a "lady", just a woman.  I am now 33.  I do not feel it, but it is what it is.

I had originally done a purple & glitter mani that ended up being a horrible fail so I removed it.  Monday I got a franken in the mail that I've been waiting on and thought what better time to use it than for my birthday.  It's me, it's vampy, and Breaking Dawn comes out Friday so it's perfect!  I'm planning to go see it with my BFF and wearing my Dolly Eye Brown contacts to match.  :D

I started out with 2 coats of Wet N Wild Buy Me A Drink from On The Prowl and added a coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.  It's like a maroon shimmer.  So pretty!

NOW to the best part.  The lovely Mandy over at Muddin Makeup Mayhem made me a franken.  She even named it after me, Harri.  What she used to make this is.....TKB Glamour Base, MAC Blackened Red Reflects, MAC Pro Red pigment, MAC Transparent Teal Reflects, and MAC Dark Soul pigment.  I absolutely LOVE it.  It's sheer, so I had to layer it over a base color which is why I used Buy Me A Drink. I used 2 coats just to make sure I had plenty of sparkle/shimmer.

I LOVE THIS!

Blue Eyed Gal!!!

Yesterday I showed you my new franken (click HERE to see) & today I'll show you something new to me layered over it.

I've been seeing KleanColor all over the place & have heard great things.  Well, with the exception of their crackles/shatters.  SO, I went to beautyjoint.com and ordered a couple.  Can't beat their price unless you can find it at a beauty supply store.

Here we have KleanColor Blue-Eyed Girl layered over the franken.

I kinda just threw it on, so please excuse the messiness.

BEG kinda has a clearish deep blue jelly base with hexagonal and very small round glitters in it.  It's so pretty.  I'm now wanting to layer it over my Rimmel Midnight Blue to see how it looks.

I had to get Blue-Eyed Girl just for the name, since I'm a blue eyed girl myself!

Glitter Franken!

This franken was inspired by the one done by rebecca likes nails which you can see HERE.  I wasn't sure which base color I wanted to use, but knew I didn't want purple as I have a ton of purples.  I didn't have enough pink cremes to make a pink base so it was either green or blue.

I chose blue.  I didn't write down exact measurements of anything because I basically had to play around.  I ended up running out of room in the first bottle and the blue looked too dark.  So, I played around some and ended up using another bottle to kinda make it lighter and ended up with 2 bottles of this polish.

Now to the pics, you'll see what I used later....

1 coat.

2 coats.

3 coats.

4 coats

4 coats

4 coats (flash)

You can still slightly see VNL (visible nail line), but not too bad.  I'm OCD and really hate seeing VNL, but didn't really mind with this.  I did, kinda mess up on my odd-shaped pinky by not covering the edge, but oh well.  LoL

Now, to what I used.  Again, no measurements here just dabbling around.

~ CLEAR (I think I used just WnW Wild Shine clear top coat)
~ SALLY GIRL PINK GLITTER (No name, but on the upper right of the barcode sticker it has the # 812005)
~ ULTA  PINATA-YADA-YADA
~ CHINA GLAZE  SECRET PERI-WINK-LE
~ WET N WILD SAVED BY THE BLUE (to take some of the purple away from the Peri-wink-le)
~ OPI MOON OVER MUMBAI (to lighten b/c I added too much saved by the blue)

What do y'all think?  I really like it.  Now I just have to think of a name for it.

I shall call it.........Copperhead

I've kinda been wanting to franken for a while, and finally decided to do it.  I didn't take pictures of the process or write down exact measurements, but I can give estimates.

I had an old top coat that I was no longer using, it was about 1/4 full.  I also had an old red shade that I wasn't using either, so I poured the red out to get the BB's inside to clean them off and put them in the top coat.  It was a bit stringy, so I added some thinner.

Once I had that fixed, I added a few dashes of Bare Minerals Liner Shadow in Black Ruby using the flat end of my metal cuticle pusher.  I shook it up and swatched on a piece of tape.  It was WAY too thin & sheer.

I wasn't exactly sure what to do, and I didn't want to add red to it.  I was afraid it would look similar to Isla.

I went to my Melmer, grabbed a few blacks, but ended up using Pure Ice Black Rage.  I poured about 20 drops of that in & swatched again.  Still slightly sheer, but a little better.  SO, I added MORE Black Ruby shadow and about 20 or so more drops of Black Rage in.  This is what I came up with...

Copperhead franken, Black Rage, & Black Ruby

I didn't swatch this on my nails as I don't want to take off the pretty color I just put on yesterday.  This did apply to the nail wheel great with just 2 coats.  I absolutely LOVE it.  I'm sure there's a ton of colors out there just like this, but I love it for my first franken.

I call this Copperhead b/c that's the first thing that popped in my head when thinking of a name for it.  My dad's nickname in Vietnam was Copperhead.
