Crown Brush HD Brush Set

Hey y'all!  Today I'm going to brush off the blog a little & get back into the swing of things with a review of some awesome make-up brushes.  

Crown Brush recently came out with a travel friendly brush set that not only comes with its own bag, but has a mirror and tweezers as well.  This HD Brush Set is available in 3 different colors...purple, orange, and white/blue.  As you can see, I received the white/blue to review. 

The case is easy to clean, has pouches for the brushes and the tweezers, and the mirror is removable.  It's compact enough to place in your bags & has a brush for almost every function of application. 

The white/blue set is completely white, with baby blue tips on the brush hairs.  These are synthetic, vegan friendly, and perfect for applying all types of products(cream, liquid, powder).

Pro Powder Brush - This is big, but not too big, and fluffy.  Perfect for applying powder to set your foundation or for mineral foundation.  You could also use this to apply bronzer to warm up the skin a little.  

Tapered Blush - This brush is a tad smaller than the normal blush brushes out there.  The bristles are shorter also.  It's perfect for not applying too much blush and getting it right where it needs to go.  Even though there is a contour brush included, this could also work for that.  

Deluxe Contour - The bristles on this brush are short and compact, while the head is rounded.  Great for applying contour color just where you want it.  I do feel it's a little big for contouring the nose, so I use it to apply my highlighter.  Because these also work well for liquids, this would be great as a concealer brush.

Chisel Shadow - This is one of my fav's.  This is a great shader brush & is fluffy enough to use for blending as well.  I like to use this to place or pack color on the lid as well as apply a highlight shade to my brow bone.  

Crease Blender - My most favorite brush of the set.  AMAZING for applying colors to the crease as well as for blending everything together.  It also works great to apply a little highlight all over the face or to use with a powder to set under eye concealer.  I've recently started using proper blending brushes like this and I'm obsessed.  

Detail Liner - This little gem is another multi-tasker.  I have used this with cream eyeliner as well as powder.  Unfortunately, because I have hooded lids, I don't use this for my upper lash line because it makes the lines a little too thick for me.  What I LOVE it for is to set liner, be it upper or lower, with powder.  It's also great for applying color to smudge out liner on the lower lash line or to add a pop of color.  My favorite use is to apply a tiny amount of color to the inner corner of my eye and blend it into the lower lash line.  Another great use for this would be to apply tiny amounts of concealer to little spots around the face.  

These brushes are amazing.  They're extremely soft, lightweight, and easy to use.  They all have a multitude of uses and work well for their own purposes.  Not only that, but they clean up super easily with no color staining. 

I've recently started purchasing more & more brushes because I just didn't have enough for perfect application and these do the perfect job.  You get everything you need in one travel friendly set for under $30.

Hey y'all!  Today I have this wonderful body butter to tell y'all about & I'll let you know now, I'm obsessed.  This is the Imperial Honey Body Butter by Perlier.  First I'll tell you the benefits, then why I love it.

What it is:
This marvelous melting body butter from the rare honey of Black Bees, combined with Royal Jelly, is a true beauty formulation. Why are Black Bees so special? The Black Sicilian bee has African origins but it is different from African bees because of its docility and productivity. Why I love it:

Most body moisture products annoy me because it they take forever to absorb, they love to sit on the skin, or I feel like I need to put more on just a few hours later.  Not with this.  I'm horrible at skipping lotion all together because I just hate having to take a ton of time to rub it in.  Again, not with this.   

This is a thick body butter without those annoyances above.  I put this on as soon as I get out of the shower and my skin drinks it up.  By drinks, I mean it doesn't sit on the skin, it goes right in.  It has a wonderful scent of honey which I love and isn't overpowering, but you know it's there.  When I have this on, I have been known to sniff my arms all day.  The first time I used it on my legs I noticed how it made my skin look so much more alive & how soft it felt even hours(into the next day) later.  

 

This is simply perfection.  I don't know how I will live without this.  I fully believe this is worth the $40 price tag.  And if you use code iFabbo5, you can get $5 off.

Perlier Volcanic Thermo Renewing Scrub - Review

Hey y'all!  Today I have a review of a bath product to share.  This is the Perlier Volcanic Thermo Renewing Scrub which can be found on HSN.

When this first came in the mail I had to open and smell.  It has a semi-strong perfume smell, which does go away once it's rubbed onto the skin and washed away.  It has a gel like base that helps smooth the salt crystals over the skin to slough off dryness.

I've used this over various parts of the body...my legs, chest, underarms, arms, etc. and find that it's best used on my legs to help prepare them for shaving.

The only thing I didn't like was that, while in the shower, I felt like I had to scoop a ton of product out to get any results.  I haven't tried using it in the bath yet, but I'm sure it'll be best used there while pampering and relaxing.

At $25, I'm not sure I would purchase due to the smell(even though I like it, it's a bit strong at first for me) and because I don't think it would last more than a few months with weekly or bi-weekly bubble baths.  I don't totally dislike it, but I'm not absolutely in LOVE with it either.

Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex

Sorry to post so late, but today I have two different opinions on this product to share with y'all.  I tried this and let my neighbor sample as well.  She's in her 50's with normal/combination skin while I'm mid 30's with oily skin.

Description from the Ulta site:

She liked that it not only contained sunscreen, but that it seemed to smooth out her skin and moisturize.  However, she and I both agreed that it's kinda heavy for AM use.  She likes to use it at night as did I, but using a cream with SPF at night seems kinda pointless.  For both of us, it made our skin too oily for AM use.  For me, it also felt like it melted down my face somehow and would always end up in my eyes no matter how far from them I massaged it in & proceeded to make them burn.  At night, it didn't do this.  

I would recommend this to people with extremely dry to normal skin.  It does go into the skin fairly well, if your skin needs a LOT of moisture.

HYD For Men....and women

Hey y'all!  The products I have to review for y'all today are for men, BUT...I'll use whatever, so I'm here to tell you that women CAN use this too.  I'm obsessed with it.

 They come in a matte black packaging.  Completely clean & manly.  First I'll tell you what I love so much about these, then I'll give you product info & links below.

The Buffer Stick is a one step microdermabrasion treatment.  It has a slight masculine smell, but not overpowering and doesn't stick around.  It's amazingly gentle.  The first time I used it, was in the bath on my legs.  This is also perfect to use in the underarm area.  I feel it removes any deodorant residue from the previous day & makes for a closer shave.  Since it also helps fight ingrown hairs, it's perfect.

The Shave Cream has to be the best product I've ever used to shave with.  I usually use whatever foam I have laying around & have used creams before.  For this being a product for men, ladies you will LOVE this.  It smells like oranges.  Seriously.  It's amazeballz.  It left my legs feeling so smooth afterwards that I didn't need to add lotion after my bath.  It also kinda helped perk me up a little in my bath when I wasn't feeling so good.  And for the underarms....you have to have this.  A little goes a long way. 

The Razor Shield is the money saver of the bunch.  This is NOT for electric razors, but rather for disposable ones.  This product gets applied to your razor after use before you store it to help keep the blades from corroding.  I use the cheap-o disposable ones that you generally get 2-3 uses out of before you start to notice rust & have to trash.  Not with this.  The one I'm currently using has been going strong for at least a month, all thanks to this product.  And I shave my legs 1-2 times a week & my underarms every 2-3 days.

Perlier Shower & Bath Cream Travel Kit

I'm so stinking excited about today's post.  I've literally wanted to try Perlier bath products for AGES....well since they first started selling on HSN, but always seemed to forget(I'm bad about that).  So, when the opportunity came up with iFabbo, I jumped on it.  Now I literally want to try every product they have.

 First up is the Honey shower cream and body balm.  This literally smells like honey, and is absolutely amazing.  The shower cream has a stronger, but not overpowering scent while the body balm is very lightly fragranced.  It moisturizes and has some amazing ingredients including 100% Italian organic honey.

Next is Olivarium shower cream and body cream.  Both are made with 100% organic Italian Olive Oil while the body cream is also made with tomato lycopene.  I was kinda iffy about this one at first.  I really wanted to try it because I know the benefits of olive oil, but I'm not fond of the smell of it.  Boy was I pleasantly surprised.  They both have a floral/herbal smell that I absolutely love(though I wish it smelled like basil, I'm weird). 

This one is Shea Butter with Citrus Extract shower cream & body balm.  This smells totally amazing.  It's got all those citrus notes, but isn't overpowering.  It's like someone peeled an orange in another room and you can smell it, not right up your nose but pleasant.  I'm afraid to let the kid smell it as he loves citrus scents. 

Lastly, we have the White Almond shower cream and body cream.  This is scented with soft Italian almonds from Sicily.  If you've ever smelled sweet almond oil, this is a much lighter version of that scent.  Something about it reminds me of my grandmother, which is probably why out of all of them this is my most used scent. 

These products are all totally amazing.  Not heavily fragranced and it doesn't linger around all day.  They all nourish the skin so well and leave it feeling so soft.  No greasy feeling, no itchy reactions, no hate for any of these.  I honestly can't say one bad thing except they're not full size and I don't have every product they make in my bathroom.
