Coastal Scents EOTD

Hey y'all!  Super quick post today.  Shortly after I got my most recent order of Coastal Scents Hot Pots, I decided to play around with a few.  You can see my swatches here

Unfortunately, I didn't make a list of what I wore other than everything on my eyes....so that's why I titled this an EOTD.  I quite like the combo and have received MANY compliments on it.

Now for the rundown:

Primer (DOH!, forgot to note which one)
Essence Stays No Matter What Eye Pencil in Whipped White Frosting over the lid only
CS Bronze Peach blended into the crease
CS Paprika blended over Bronze Peach
CS Georgia Peach all over the lid
CS Rich Walnut lightly blended into the outer V
Ulta Naked on the browbone

For my liner, I first applied Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in Brown then applied CS Burnt Umber over it.  I did this for the top and bottom liner.  Then I finished up with Maybelline Falsies mascara and Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Medium Brown.

So what do y'all think?  I'm absolutely LOVING it with my hair & eye color.  I feel I could pull this off year round.

Colorful FOTD with Essence Cosmetics

**Press Sample**

Hey y'all!  So earlier today I shared a review and some swatches of the products I'm using today.  You can check that post out HERE.  I'll get right to the pics and what I used. :D

 Eyes:
  • I <3 Stage Eyeshadow Base
  • Stays No Matter What Pencil in Whipped White Frosting on the lid as a color base
  • All 3 Metal Glam Eyeshadows - Coffee To Glow on the crease, Frosted Apple on most of the lid & the inner lower lash line, and Jewel Up THe Ocean on the outer corner of the lid and lower lash line.
  • Lightest shade of the Sun Club All-in-One Bronzing Highlighter on the inner corner and browbone to highlight.
  • Get Big Lashes Mascara on my right(your left) eye and Lash Mania Reloaded Mascara on my left(your right) eye.

I used the Bronzer on the face to give my skin a little color and accidentally went a little overboard, though it looks ok to me.  Then used the upper left corner of the brick to highlight and blended it all out a little.

On my lips is the Longlasting Lipstick in Dare To Be Nude.

Unfortunately, I forgot to note everything else that I used, but I quite like how it turned out.  The aqua gives it a pop of color and looks great with my blue eyes.

Neon Purple Animal Print Nails

Hey y'all.  Hope you're all having a great Hump Day!  This past weekend I went to a metal show to see some local bands at a venue I've never been to(even though it's been around for as long as I can remember).  I had to do something & wanted to kinda match the make-up I'd decided on.  So, this is what I did....at like 2AM while watching movies on Netflix.

Look, my thumb makes an appearance!

What I used:  Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Funky Fingers Power Play, and black acrylic paint.  I did the white base to make the neon purple more vibrant.  Then used a small brush to randomly brush some stripes on & a sponge to make tips on the accent nails.  Because it's acrylic paint instead of polish, it dried faster & my topcoat didn't smear it at all.

I showed an outdoor pic to my BBFF(Best Blogging Friend Forever) Mandy & she said it was pretty, but needed GLITTER!  So, I put some China Glaze Fairy Dust on the black tips.  Side note, this pic below was taken AFTER I got home from downtown Atlanta & chilled a bit before going to bed, so around 2AM(yes again).

I really loved this man and I'm going to be really sad to take it off.  I ended up doing my toes with power Play and Fairy Dust.  So pretty.

Now, here's my face.  I took these with my cell before I left because I was taking forever and running late, the guys were giving me crap.

WoW I look really yellow now that I'm looking at this.

I think the guys started yelling at me about the time I snapped this.
What was on my face:
Face
- CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation in 825 Buff Beige(I'll do a full review on this later.)
- Bari Cosmetics Blush in 321CP You Go Girl
- Too Faced Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer in milk chocolate

Eyes
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 601 Black Bean
- MAC Carbon eyeshadow on the lid(can't see it bc of my hooded lids)
- Sleek i-Divine Ulta Matts V1 palette - Sugarlite - the bright purple in my crease & under my eyes.
- L'Oreal Infallible shadow in With A Twist as my highlight & on the tear duct area.
- Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in zero on my waterline.
- Rimmel Soft Kohl in 040 Purple Passion under that & set with Sugarlite.
- It Cosmetics Your Brows But Better pencil with Brazen Brow Powder in Jessica on top on my brows.
- Cargo Lash Activator mascara in black(I think that's the color, it's a sample size I think I won in a giveaway).

Lips
- Josie Maran lipstick in Birthday Suit
- Josie Maran Natural Volume Lip Gloss in Optimism

I think that was about it.  I had a great time, even though the bottled water there was not cold one bit.  Humid weather + hot warehouse + lots of people = I NEED COLD WATER!!!

FOTD with Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream

*some products in this post provided for review*

Please excuse me if I'm all over the place with this one.  It's been a while since I've done a make-up post, but today I'm here to tell y'all what I think about the Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream(sent for review) that I've been trying out for the past few weeks.  I've heard about this brand a LOT on the radio, but just recently discovered that they're also available HERE at Ulta.

From the box:
Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Sunscreen is your all-in-one multi-tasking perfecting cream that hydrates, conceals, protects, reduces the look of aging, and brightens the skin in just one step.  Hides uneven skin tone and minimizes the appearance of imperfections.  Works perfectly under foundation, or all on its own.  Skin looks naturally flawless.  Effortlessly perfect.  Overall more youthful.

The shade I received is Medium, which is described as light-medium.  I "think" I am around a NC25, and this matches very well.  Plus, BONUS, it has SPF40.  It's light and creamy, & smells like an orange creamsicle(the smell does go away).  I haven't tested this alone, yet...but have been using it as I would a tinted moisturizer or foundation.  I have noticed no irritation and it has a light coverage.  I'm sure you could apply a 2nd layer to build it up to medium.  I've also only applied it with my beauty blender instead of my fingers.  I'll be sure to make an edit to this post once I have tested it alone and applied with my fingers.

please excuse my brows
This is my face after one application/layer, no powder.  It dries to a semi-matte finish with a beauty blender application.  I did have a few shiny spots, but nothing horrible.  I didn't use a primer, as I've had issues with it sliding off my face when I do.  I have extremely oily skin and have noticed those areas getting shiny about 4-5 hours after applying this BB Cream.  Blotting my face with a tissue(I'm sure oil blotting sheets would work too, I've never used them) seemed to take away the shine without removing any product.  I have a few facial scars, some of which would need a dozen layers of foundation to cover, and this does make most of the areas less noticeable.

As far as concealing, there were a few imperfections that stuck out which still needed concealer, but I'm sure just dabbing a little bit more Hydroxatone on them would've covered just fine.  It looks very natural to me.  It covered redness without covering my freckles and making me look like I actually had anything on my face.  That is very rare for me to find.  Even with adding powder on top it's my skin but better.  I can't wait to use it at the pool this summer.  SPF plus weightless feel = AMAZING.

Now I'll show y'all my face once I finished putting the rest of my make-up on and all that jazz.

Products used:
  • Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream - medium (product provided for review)
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer - 125 Fair
  • Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder - 020 Light
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder - Milk Chocolate(product for review - will do a full separate post on this later)
  • LA Colors - Pink Blush
  • ELF Studio Blush - Peachy Keen(as highlight on my cheeks)
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion - original
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics palette - used every shade on my eyes with Crave over top of my liner

  • Josie Maran GoGo Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara - Pitch Black - top lashes

    Geek Chic Cosmetics Scapers FOTD

I haven't done a make-up look in AGES & really haven't worn much make-up at all in the past year.  Actually, the past few weekends, I've worn more than I did all last year.  So when GCC asked for people to review the Scapers collection, I jumped at it.  I've been oogling their stuff for a while and knew this would help.

Of course as I'm typing this up, I realize I totally failed and forgot to take a picture of the actual shadows in the container.....but you can see wonderful pictures on their store.  I was sent clamshell samples of Sensitive Warrior, Yotz!, and Find My Way Home.

    Left to Right:
    • Sensitive Warrior - "A light gold with bronze undertones and green sparkles".  I also noticed a little bit of gold glitter.
    • Yotz! - "A raspberry on a red base with a red-violet shift and tons of purple holo glitter and purple and red sparks."  I didn't notice the purple glitter until AFTER I'd already put it on my eyes, so rather than pat it on I kinda ended up blending it off the lid....but it's still a beautiful shade.
    • Find My Way Home - "A rich fall orange velvet metallic shadow with orange and golden sparkle".  I layered this over a brown-ish color which made this look more bronze than orange.
For the swatches, I applied them over a Wet N Wild Primer using my finger to sorta pat them on.  I wish I had applied them to my eye that way to get more of the sparkle, but they still worked beautifully on my ballz.
