Iron Man 3 nails....Grungy Style

*some polishes previously provided for review*

So, as this is posting I'm in the theater watching Iron Man 3 with the kiddo.  I was so indecisive as to how I wanted to do my nails, I pulled out several polishes & I finally came up with this....

I remembered my purple grungy nails (HERE) that I did back in September & thought it would be cool do do again.

What I used:
  • Zoya Isla (horrible swatch HERE)
  • Pure Ice Not Now (swatch HERE
  • Zoya Elisa (swatch HERE)
  • China Glaze Blue Bells Ring (swatch HERE
  • China Glaze GR8 (swatch HERE
  • Kawaii Nail Lacquer Iron Man (Accent - used HERE
  • Gelous(over accent nail) & China Glaze Fast Forward

I grabbed the Iron Man car from the kiddo & decided to use it as a prop.  He was so excited I used his toy and he totally approved of my mani.

I did these rather quick, but they did take a little bit of time.  Probably because I was watching a movie on Netflix at the same time.

What do y'all think?  Have you seen the movie yet?

Smokey St. Patrick's mani

When trying to come up with ideas for St. Patty's mani's, I went looking through Pinterest.  Last year, I did THIS mani with some green holo, matte, & a beer accent nail.  This year I wanted to try a few different things.

All of a sudden I remembered a mani I did ages ago based off a tutorial that you can find HERE.  I pulled out like 95% of my green polishes and went to town.  This was the first one for this year.

I started out with 2 coats of Essie Da Bush and let that dry with a quick dry top coat.  Then I used one of my mani nail art brushes and applied strokes of China Glaze Def Defying  & Zoya Shawn.  I absolutely LOVED this but thought it needed something else.

Usually, I tend to overthink nail art and add too much when it's enough as it is.  So I took pictures before messing it up.

I totally forgot to rotate these so you could see that they're gold shamrocks.  I used Pure Ice Bite Me! and a toothpick to draw them on & finished it off with a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward.

What do y'all think?

I have plenty of ideas in mind and will be trying them out over the next few days so be on the lookout for them.

Pure Ice Emerald Crush

Ahhhhhh it's finally March.  I want to start the month off right in counting down to my fav holiday.  St. Patrick's day.  I'm not going to babble too much today, but here's a green one for y'all.  :D

This is 3 coats with a top coat.  Emerald Crush has small green & gold glitters with small green hex glitters.  It's perfect for St. Patrick's and Christmas.

I wear so much green that day that some of my friends have called me a leprechaun.  It's hilarious.

Pure Ice First Party

PPPPAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYY.  Sorry random sillyness.  This is the last Pure Ice swatch I have for a little bit.  I think I've actually swatched all 50 or so that I have so far.  I'll definitely have to check and make sure of that.

This is 4 coats of First Party with a top coat.  I apologize for one of my lamps making my nails look yellow-y, this is definitely a clear based glitter.  There are small & hex red glitters in this.  It's kinda sparse and should definitely be used as a glitter topper.

First Party would be great for any mani that just needs a slight touch of red.

Pure Ice Cha-Ching

Quick post today.  Pure Ice Cha-Ching.

This is 3 coats with top coat.  Cha-Ching is a gorgeous sheer, shimmery carnation pink.  It sorta flashes different shades as you move your hands.  Will definitely be wearing this again.

Pure Ice Kissing Cupid

Sorry I'm a little late with my post today.  I honestly debated on posting or not.  Today I'm wanting to work on a post for tomorrow, but figured I could take at least a few minutes to get this up.

Kinda like Valentines Day, I have a love/hate relationship with this polish.  I think the name is adorable, LOVE the color, and dig the price.  I hate the clean-up and that even though I swatched 3 different times, I still wound up with bubbles.  They were either from the polish or my topcoat, & it flip flopped between swatches.

This is 2 coats of Kissing Cupid with a top coat.  KC is a gorgeous ruby wine jelly shade.

I will definitely have to try a jelly sandwich with this.  Y'all know I love my reds and nothing, not even bubbles, will keep me away from wearing this again.

Pure Ice Stunning

Today is one of the Pure Ice Velours.  I love velour blankets and I love this polish.  I'm not going to ramble too much, but will let it speak for itself.

2 coats of Stunning without top coat.

This is like a raspberry wine/metallic meets matte.  One coat would've been fine, but I opted for two.  I absolutely love this.

Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas

Short post today as I have a Metro Chic polish from the Runway Collection to show you.  I think this may be one of my new favorite neutrals AND it gets Elvis stuck in my head every time.

Viva Las Vegas is described as a light gold chrome, but it reminds me more of a golden taupe.  This is 2 coats with a top coat.

It's only slightly sheer, but a perfect nude palette cleanser.  It's neutral, but still has a little oompf to it.
