Super Bowl 51 - Atlanta Falcons - Julio Jones - Sally Hansen Nails

*Press Sample*

Hey y'all!  Today I have my Super Bowl mani to share with y'all!  Sally Hansen was kind enough to send me red & black to go with the Atlanta Falcons colors & I decided to bump it up a little.  For the NFC Championship, I did Matt Ryan nails so this time I went with Julio Jones #11.  So lets get right to it!

The polishes that were sent were Red My Lips from their Complete Salon Manicure range & Black to Black from their Insta-Dri range.  I also added in Silver Sweep from the Insta-Dri range and some white acrylic paint.  It's a great silver that I use a LOT.

The index and pinky nails have the silver base with red, black, and white "waterfall" like stripes.

The middle finger is the red and black both smooshed onto a stamper and then dabbed onto the nail making it look smokey.  I did my thumb nail the same way.

The ring finger is the red base, and the black with white acrylic paint to make up the #11 on the jersey of Julio Jones.  Those 1's were done by hand and turned out great I think.

I am so looking forward to this game and I am of course pulling for my Falcons.  Who are you pulling for?

Oh, and here's a pic of me...yanno in case you forgot what I look like.

Winter-y Grey & Wine Nail Art

Hey y'all!  Today I have a recent mani that I did & wore for a few weeks.  I wanted something winter-y, but not completely dark and drab.  So this is what I came up with.

This was super easy to do, and of course I added a little sparkle as well.  Per the usual, I used Seche Vite as my top coat.

Middle: Sinful Colors Snow Me White(base), China Glaze Change Your Altitude, China Glaze Wine Down For What?, & chevron tape from Born Pretty Store.

Atlanta Falcons- Matt Ryan Freehand Nail Art - #RiseUp

Hey y'all!  Today I have my current mani to share with y'all.  I've been a fan of the Falcons for all of my life, even went to a ton of games as a kid.  However, with this season going so well and the divisional championship's being this weekend I had to do some nail art to help cheer my team on.  I was going to wait and post these tomorrow, but I'm impatient and wanted to share right away.

My inspiration was the Matt Ryan jersey that I have.  The kiddo has a Julio Jones, but I didn't think I'd be able to get the lettering the way I wanted....so I went the shorter route.  Plus, they'll match when I wear it while watching the game this weekend!

Index: Wet N Wild Black Creme with "ATL" in red acrylic paint.
Middle: OPI Coca-Cola Red with "RYAN" & his # in white and black acrylic paint.

Ring: OPI Coca-Cola Red with #RiseUp in black acrylic paint.
Pinky: Essie Little Brown Dress with white acrylic paint to look like a football.

This took a while to do.  For the jersey nail I made decals with acrylic paint & a brush on my silicone mat and placed them over the base.  For the rest of the nails I actually just drew everything on using a toothpick.  Because I used acrylic paint I didn't have to wait long before applying Seche Vite as my top coat.

I love these nails so much, even though they didn't turn out 100% like I wanted them to. I took at least 50 pics and had to narrow it down BIG time.

I'm praying that we win this weekend because I totally want to see a Superbowl rivalry in my house this year (hubs is a Steelers fan).  I wish I was going to the game, but I'll be screaming on the comfort of my couch.

Funky Fingers - So Fetch!

Hey y'all!  Today I have another one of the polishes Funky Fingers released sometime last year. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the collection, but I do know the name came from the movie Mean Girls & it was with the same collection as the Clueless named polishes.

So Fetch! is a clear based glitter topper. It's filled with various sized black, chartreuse green, pink, and white glitters as well as bright blue stars.

This is another one that I'm kind of unsure of, but I had to have it because of the name.

Zoya - Matte Velvet - Holiday/Winter 2015

*Press Sample*

Hey y'all!  It's been a while.  Today I have the Zoya Matte Velvet Holiday/Winter collection to share with ya.  This collection contains 6 matte velvet polishes.  Matte velvet means they're more satin than flat matte, but still gorgeous.  You can use them with or without a topcoat.

For these swatches I went without.  They all contain a bit of shimmer & to show that I had to play with lighting so it not only showed the true color, but showed the shimmer as well.  These could easily be one coaters, but I went with two.

Amal - This can be best described as a classic crimson red with a ruby red pearl fleck.  I feel this is a pretty accurate description, though I feel it's more of a cranberry red.

Aspen - This can be best described as a sparkling arctic white with a micronized diamond pearl fleck.  This is a gorgeous, crisp, snowy white.  LOVE

Honor - This can be best described as a true emerald green with a tone on tone emerald pearl fleck.  Accurately described....and that's exactly what I put in my notes.  A great Christmas-y green.

Iris - Can be best described as a deep amethyst with a fuchsia pearl fleck.  It's like grape juice with a slight pink shimmer.

Sue - Can be best described as a soft champagne gold with a multi-hued oyster shell pearl flick.  Well, that's kinda what I wrote...I saw this as a creamy gold with opal shimmer.

Yves - Can be best described as a deep sapphire that's in between indigo and royal blue with a blue pearl fleck.  The base is a slightly deeper blue while the shimmer is lighter, almost making this look like cobalt glass.

These are now currently available on Zoya.com for $10ea. or $60 for the entire sampler set.

SinfulColors - A Class Act - The Demi-Matte's

*Press Sample*

Hey y'all!  Today I have 5 of the back to school collection from SinfulColors to share.  The ones you'll see below are some of the demi-matte's, there are 9 available.  So lets get right to it.

Demi-matte means these aren't that fully flat matte that we're used to.  To me they're more of like a rubbery type matte.  To show how the finish is, I did not use top coat with any of these.

Blackboard - 3 coats - This is a demi-matte chalkboard black.  The formula is sheer and kinda jelly-ish.  It's like a perfectly clean chalkboard at the beginning of the year.

Chalk It Up - 2 coats - This is a demi-matte pistachio green.  The formula is pretty opaque.  It's like a pastel yellow/green piece of sidewalk chalk.

RADient - 3 coats - This is a demi-matte vibrant raspberry. The formula was sheer and jelly-ish.  It looks like a rubbery, shiny, pencil eraser.

Truth or Lavendare - 2 coats - This is a demi-matte creamy lavender.  It definitely reminds me of purple sidewalk chalk.

Whiteboard - 3 coats - This is a demi-matte, chalk white.  The formula is kinda streaky, but it ends up looking ok.  It looks like a white dry erase board.

Overall these are pretty awesome.  The dry time, though I didn't actually time it, was pretty even with normal matte polishes.  I'll have the other demi-matte's from this collection listed below in case you wish to check them out.

A-Crush: Soft baby blue in a unique demi-matte finish
Hazed: Subdued violet with a demi-matte finish
Pink Break: Demi-matte peachy-pink
V.I.Peach: Soft touch pastel yellow

PRICE/AVAILABILITY:
$1.99 each at Walgreens and other mass retailers for August & September 2015.
