Iron Man 3 nails....Grungy Style

*some polishes previously provided for review*

So, as this is posting I'm in the theater watching Iron Man 3 with the kiddo.  I was so indecisive as to how I wanted to do my nails, I pulled out several polishes & I finally came up with this....

I remembered my purple grungy nails (HERE) that I did back in September & thought it would be cool do do again.

What I used:
  • Zoya Isla (horrible swatch HERE)
  • Pure Ice Not Now (swatch HERE
  • Zoya Elisa (swatch HERE)
  • China Glaze Blue Bells Ring (swatch HERE
  • China Glaze GR8 (swatch HERE
  • Kawaii Nail Lacquer Iron Man (Accent - used HERE
  • Gelous(over accent nail) & China Glaze Fast Forward

I grabbed the Iron Man car from the kiddo & decided to use it as a prop.  He was so excited I used his toy and he totally approved of my mani.

I did these rather quick, but they did take a little bit of time.  Probably because I was watching a movie on Netflix at the same time.

What do y'all think?  Have you seen the movie yet?

Iron Man nails with Kawaii Nail Lacquer

Today I have another one of the polishes I picked up last month from Kawaii Nail Lacquer.  My kid watched me to this mani and let me just say he loved it.

I wanted the base of this to look like the Arc Reactor in Iron Man's chest.  So I started out with MaxFactor Odyssey Blue(which I showed yesterday) and sponged a little bit of Color Club Lumin-Icecent in the middle of each nail.

Then I applied 1 coat of Kawaii Nail Lacquer Iron Man & finished it off with a top coat.

Description from the Etsy shop: "Iron man has fine red glitter, more red bar glitter with big red hexagon pieces, with fine holo gold glitter with orange hexagons and orange bar glitter."

This applied beautifully and isn't annoyingly packed with bar glitter.  As you can see, I got a lot of each of the glitters with just one coat and didn't have to blot anything on.

When I finished this mani, I turned around to show the kiddo and his jaw dropped to the floor.  As you may have seen from a few previous posts, he's a HUGE Iron Man fan.  I told him I will be recreating this again when we go see Iron Man3 when it comes out in May and he was all excited.

I will definitely be getting more Kawaii polishes in the future and you should too.

This retails for $9.00 in her Etsy shop.  You can shop HERE or visit her Facebook page HERE

Kawaii Nail Lacquer - Black Widow

So if you've read previous posts, you'll know that we were stuck home for Christmas as the boys had the flu.  One of the few things that made it better was a sale from Kawaii Nail Lacquer

I've had several of her polishes on my wishlist FOREVER! In fact, now I have more.  My son loves to pick out polishes for me and he's a HUGE fan of The Avengers.  Every day when he comes home from school he has to watch The Super Hero Squad on The HUB.  I think he's watched every episode ever.  That being said, I had to go with 2 polishes from The Avengers collection.  Black Widow and Iron Man, which I'll swatch soon.

Enough babbling....ON TO THE POLISH!!!

This is 2 coats of Black Widow over Butter London Pillar Box Red + a top coat.

Description from the Etsy shop: "Black Widow has Red Hex's small and large, some red stain matte red hex, a long with black small and large Hex's. Also has various red bar glitter, Small silver hex's and a small amount of Silver shards thrown in."  It's pretty spot on.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about shards and bar glitter, but it's not enough to bother me and I didn't have to dig to get the glitters out.  It applied smoothly, though you can see where I didn't move it around much in a spot on my middle finger.

I will definitely be getting more Kawaii polishes in the future and you should too.

This retails for $8.00 in her Etsy shop.  You can shop HERE or visit her Facebook page HERE
