Review on Rimmel Stay Matte and a few other things I picked up from CVS....

Blah @ long title.  It's 1:30ish AM and I am so not thinking at the moment.  I could probably abbreviate everything in this post right now, but I'll try not to.

On the left.
Today I decided to see if the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation that I picked up at CVS.  I used my Bare Escentuals Prime Time primer underneath, only because I'm trying to use it all up to get rid of that crappy stuff, and didn't put any powder on top(just to test it).  I was glad the color worked out, even if I could've taken it back.

Per the packaging....Shine Control formula for 12 hours matte coverage. With SkinPure Complex for a visibly purified complexion and gentle botanical extracts to help soothe sensitive skin. Oil-free. Non-Comedogenic. Non-acnegenic. Fragrance free. Paraben free.

This is just primer, foundation, my ELF Peachy Keen Blush, the top 2 left shades from the WnW Night Elf palette, ELF Cream Eyeliner in Plum Purple, ELF Mascara, and NYC lipstick in sheer red.  Again, I used NO powder.

This pic is the same as above, just with a lip change....Maybelline lipstick in Rum Raisin.

Here you can see an up close difference in the two shades.  I think my lips look funny, maybe it's just me.

I did try my Maybelline Dream Mousse concealer as well and the person that paid for it didn't listen  when I told him to tell me which one was A SHADE LIGHTER!!!  Because this was right around my skin tone. and I made the mistake of putting it under my eyes.......bad line settleage which I think you can see in the pic below if you enlarge it.  Not to mention that it's not any lighter than my foundation/skin...it's actually maybe a shade darker IMO.

Anyway, here's a close up of my eyes...

WOW, Someone needs to tweeze!!
And just b/c I thought this pic looked odd...
What's up with my eyelids???
*talks to self* FOCUS WOMAN!!

Ok, so I'm kinda impressed with this foundation.  I did make the mistake of using my new clean & clear wash this AM(I think I'll have to switch it to my night routine) which made my skin dry and flaky to start off with.  This did go on very well and for not using ANY powder on top, my face didn't look like I'd dunked it in a bucket of KFC Extra Crispy.  I DID have some oilyness as you can see below, but not nearly as much as I usually do.  So, I think maybe switching the skincare & adding my ELF HD powder will help this to "Stay Matte".  I will definitely keep using this, but don't know if I'd pay full price for it as it is a small tube.  I think this normally retails for around $6-$7.  We'll see how I feel about it after using it a few times.

And this is WITH FLASH....

...which usually makes shine worse.
TOODLES Y'ALL!!!
