Hey y'all! Today starts the week I have pretty much dedicated to this collection. I'm going to just come out and say I'm in love. Electric Nights contains 9 creams, or crelly(cream/jelly hybrid) rather, and 3 glitters. Because of that I'm breaking this up in to separate posts. Today you'll see the creams, Wednesday will be the glitters.
To be fair to myself I'd not really looked at too many other reviews when I started playing with these. I like to go in with a fresh mind. With my history of neon's I knew they really SHINE over a white base, so I used white on ONE finger only. That left the rest to show how the shades look when used alone.
Daisy Know My Name? - 3 coats alone & 2 coats over white - This is a bright hi-light yellow crelly. I'm not normally a fan of yellow, but give me something bright like this and I'm all over it.
Home Sweet House Music - 3 coats alone & 2 coats over white - Neon, yellow based orange crelly.
UV Meant To Be - 2 coats alone & 2 coats over white - This is the lighter of the two blues in this collection. Tranquil baby blue crelly. I would say this is kinda cerulean in the shade of blue.
Plur-ple - 3 coats alone & 2 coats over white - A blue based lilac-y purple bright crelly.
Glow With The Flow - 2 coats, both alone & over white - I would describe this as a baby pink hi-lighter crelly. It's just gorgeous.
Treble Maker - 2 coats, both alone & over white - I can't get out of my head that this reminds me of slime. It has the neon look and crelly feel of the popular 70's/80's toy.
Red-y To Rave - 2 coats, both alone & over white - BRIGHT neon red/orange crelly. In some lights it looks neon coral, while in others it's a reddish orange. Either way you wish to describe it, it's my fav of the entire collection. This will be on my toes soon and you'll see it again soon in a mani that I did for this past weekend.
DJ Blue My Mind - 3 coats alone & 2 coats over white - This is the darker(though it isn't really dark) of the two blues. It's bright and almost like a neon Greek blue. This also was used in a post you'll see on Friday....LOVE it!
Violet-Vibes - 2 coats, both alone & over white - Neon violet, more red than blue based, crelly. As you can see I had some major issues with this one. I actually debated on doing the swatch over again, but I'm all about showing y'all if/when I have problems and being completely open about it. I thought this looked fine, but when I went to edit the pictures I saw how streaky this was. It's still great, but keep in mind you'll probably need more than 2 coats.
So, could you tell which finger I used the white base on? The answer is, my ring finger. As you can tell some of these look the same when used alone, while others look better over a base. As far as application, I did notice a bit of streaking with a few(like Violet Vibes) but using an additional coat or two would be perfectly fine.

I love some good cremes and these look great. Some very vibrant colors for the season.
ReplyDeleteVERY useful to see the comparisons with and without the white base- thank you!! I'm thinking I need at least a couple of these!
