NuMe 19MM Classic Curling Wand

Hey y'all!  Today I have a new toy to tell y'all about.  Around Thanksgiving/Black Friday I saw a post in a Facebook group about a super killer deal on the 19MM curling wand from NuMe.   I couldn't pass it up, and I'll tell you why in a bit, but first lets get to the goods.  I apologize in advance if this post is all over the place.  As I'm typing this post up, it's 3AM and I REALLY need sleep.

I picked this up in the black & white zebra pattern.  I don't see it available on the website, but they also have this in solid pink or black.  For me, the most exciting part is getting the heat glove.  I've been needing a glove for a while, for when I straighten my hair but didn't want to pay the prices I'd seen at some places for JUST a glove.

Anywho, lets get back to what I was talking about.  When I saw the post on the deal for this, I told the other half about it.  I've seen a LOT of good things being said about NuMe products and have wanted to try them for ages.  I just couldn't see myself forking out that much money.

I haven't owned a curling iron in YEARS.  Yes, even with curly hair I used to ALWAYS have a curling iron.  They were great for helping me style my bangs or sometimes I'd even use them to straighten my hair.

Since I've been growing my hair back out, I have a lot of bad hair days.  I actually need to go get some more layers cut in because it's starting to look flat again.  If you have curly hair, you know that at times it has a mind of its own.  I would say it's like a 2C/3A type.  On occasion I get a few strands that do NOT want to curl no matter what.  So I thought this would be great not only for those days, but for times when my curls go flat on 2nd or 3rd day & I don't want to wash just so I can have curls again.

This is 2nd day hair.  The day before I had straightened so I could see how well it curled.  I'm so used to the curling irons with clips that it did take a little bit to adjust to going clipless, but wasn't too bad.  I tried not to hold the hair on the heat for too long and really didn't hold it in the curl until it cooled like I should have, but for doing a quick once over this wasn't too bad.  I actually quite like it.  I even liked the little bit that was left the next day.

All I did was twist each section before wrapping it around the wand(tip pointed down), holding for maybe 20-30 seconds before letting it fall.  Once everything was complete I sprayed all over with a little bit of hair spray before lightly running my fingers through the curls to loosen them a little bit.  Once I felt everything looked great, I went over it again with a little bit of spray.

I did use a heat protectant spray, forgot to mention that, and I was amazed at how shiny and glossy my hair looked after curling.  The ends did still look a tiny bit frizzy where they weren't held onto the wand (and had been straightened the day before), but I don't even get this shine using curling products.

I can't wait to keep using this and try different types of curls out.

  1. Looks like a nice curling wand. I don't use my hair tools that much but I really should change up my hair style every once in a while.
