Ready...Set...Gorgeous with CoverGirl

Hey y'all!  My favorite foundation for my excessively oily skin is the CoverGirl Outlast 3-in-1.  It lasts for hours, doesn't break down, and only requires minimal blotting throughout the day...even in the humid GA weather.  I love it, and will NEVER give it up....(#rickroll)....even though I need a lighter shade now.


When the Ready...Set...Gorgeous line came out, I saw a lot of reviews on YouTube almost comparing the two.  Basically, saying that this was the non-SPF and much lighter(not as heavy) version of Outlast.  So, I had to try.  Especially since I wanted something without SPF, so there was no flashback, and something lighter for the summer.

The most difficult part was finding my shade.  There wasn't any info on their website, so rather than track it down at Walgreens(which I would rather have found there on sale), I went to WalMart.  I grabbed a bottle of my perfect shade from Revlon and held it up to these tubes of foundation.  105(Classic Ivory) was the closest.  I also grabbed 310(Classic Tan) so that I could try the contour and highlight method with foundation.  I also snagged the concealer in 105-110(Fair).

After watching a few videos, I decided to give it a go.  I didn't take pictures while I had the product on my face, BUT I did use all 3 of these.  310 for the contour, the concealer under my eyes, and 105 everywhere else.  I brushed each on separately, without blending it in.  Once my entire face was done, I took my damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and blended it all together, starting from the outside of my face working towards the middle.  I'll have a review of it up soon, but this is what it looked like after.

I'm just now noticing how pale this makes me look.....and I think it was mostly the flash in a dark room.  I look like a ghost, but you can barely see where the two different shades are.  It looks weird, BUT I went further with it.

I can't remember what else I used on my face, because I didn't write it down, but here's what my completed face looks like after setting the foundation with powder, a light dusting of contour powder, eyes, etc.  I also didn't do any "swatches" of this, such a bad blogger.

I like how natural it looks.  I'm not sure if the "Casper Face" is from how stinking pale I am at the moment or if it's from the foundation, but I'm used to it.  I think it matches my neck pretty well.

Now, to my thoughts.  I love how light this is, how easy it is to blend, how it applies with my blending sponge, etc.  What I don't love is that it seems to allow oil to break through after about 4-5 hours of wear.  It didn't break down, and the concealer actually stayed without creasing, but I had to blot AND powder.  It may have also been that I didn't get the Powder Foundation and use with it.  I will eventually pick that up to try together.

That being said, I don't actually hate it.  I'm glad that this is available in WalMart and is on the actual display.  I hope that means they're going to make this part of their permanent line.  There are times when I only wear makeup for a few hours and this is perfect for me because I absolutely HATE carrying powder around to touch up.  I will blot with tissues before applying more powder.
