Knowing what you know now, what beauty advice would you give your teenage self?
First and foremost, WASH THE MAKE-UP OFF YOUR FACE!!! I'm still sorta bad about going to sleep with make-up on, but not nearly as bad as I used to be.
Secondly, moisturize...moisturize..moisturize...head to toe. Another one I'm still bad about, but getting better at.
Lastly, don't hide your freckles. I've always had them & was teased about them when I was younger....so I tried to cover them up as much as possible. They're not as prominent on my face as they used to be, but I should've embraced them. I never really was embarrassed by my facial scars so I'm not sure why I was about my freckles.
To any teenagers(or moms of teens) who may read this, I want to give one HUGE piece of advice...well two. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use SPF, even if it's cloudy. You can find this in most every sort of product nowadays, not just in sunscreen form. Even if it's just a moisturizer with SPF, every little bit helps. Make sure you don't forget the lips too. I'm a huge stickler when it comes to this.
The other piece is to always wear sunglasses if you're outside during the day. Especially if you have blue, green, or grey eyes as they are more sensitive to light. Squinting causes wrinkles! I even wear mine when it's gloomy/cloudy out & have them all over(house, car, purse, etc.). I'm approaching my mid 30's and have only slightly noticeable wrinkles around my eyes. I think this is the huge reason why.
What piece of advice would you give your younger self?

I used to fall asleep all the time with my make up on, and I love we both made the spf suggestion. I do need to moisturize more, all great advice!!
ReplyDeleteOh, the washing the makeup off and moisturizing one are good! I still have trouble following that advice myself (even though I so know I should). If only I had developed those habits when I was young, my skin would probably be so much better now!
ReplyDeletePREACH! I wear my sunglasses pretty much anytime I'm even near a window. I am realllllly bad about moisturizing though :( I am doing better with my face, but my whole body deserves more moisturizer!
