I'm finally getting around to swatching some of the eyeshadow stuff in my collection. This is a holiday(I don't think it's still available) item from E.L.F. Fortunately I picked this up at Target when I was in Nashville and only paid $3.50 instead of $5.00. Also, excuse my attempt at swatching. I'm planning to work on making them better.
When you open this up, it's held closed by magnets, there's a tutorial on the left to show you how/where to use the shadows.
I swatched these using the $1.00 E.L.F. Eyelid Primer (rather than using my UDPP). In all of the pics below, the primer is on the left and no primer on the right. I did these in 3's from top to bottom, left to right. Also, I used my finger to swatch these rather than pulling out a brush or using the sponge applicator inside.
First up, we have the 6 shades on the left. These were very light
Now, the 3 shades on the left...you can't even see the lightest shade on the top.

Now the next 3....same with the first ones, you can barely see the lightest shade.

Now the 6 shades on the right. I found these to actually show up better, but still had problems.

And the last 3, I like these colors, but still problems..

Bottom line, these are a total miss. Even though I used my fingers to swatch, they were extremely chalky and the color payoff was horrible. I've attempted to do a look with these before and didn't have any better luck even using brushes. Though I'm glad I got this at a clearance price, I wish I'd passed on it. I've used some horrible products in my time, and this by far is one of the worst.
Anyone else have this and had better luck?
TOODLES Y'ALL!!!
