Zoya Satin Collection - Fall 2013

**Press Sample**

Yeah, I planned to have these up last week but my migraines decided otherwise.  So I'll get right to it.  Be warned, it's sorta pic heavy.

All swatches are 2 coats, with the exception of Maria Luisa at 3, and top coat.

Channing - "Can be best described as a rusty or coppery red metallic."  Now I don't look at descriptions when I swatch, I always make my own notes during the process & include the Zoya description as well.  For this I literally wrote down "Copper/rust metallic".  It makes me think of the turning leaves of fall & I absolutely LOVE it.

Claudine - "Can be best described as a striking dark meteorite gray metallic."  For this, it didn't seem as dark as the swatch on the website.  I would describe this as a metallic charcoal gray.

Giovanna - "Can be best described as a stunning emerald green metallic."  My notes of "metallic emerald green" are spot on.  I love how some metallic polishes sometimes look like a duochrome, especially when light/flash hits it.

Mason - "Can be best described as an exciting red violet or "Fandango Pink" metallic."  I wrote "fuchsia purple metallic with red around the edge".  Looking at the bottle in person, you don't expect for it to look like a duochrome.  I can see like pink & purple shimmer to it.  It shocked me with the depth and how it looks like I applied a sheer pink over an oxblood type color.

Neve - "Can be best described as a sapphire blue metallic."  To me, this is more of a blurple metallic.  It shows more in the first picture than it does in the other.  However, if you look close you can see blue and purple shimmer in it.  I have a few similar polishes, but no exact dupes.  Which is good....and I LOVE polishes like this.

Maria Luisa - "Can be best described as gold cellophane accent topper."  This looks like golden freckles.  It surprisingly lays flat & is smooth.  For full coverage, it would need more than 3 coats as shown above.  I think maybe this is the baby sister to the Gilty Pleasures 18K topper they came out with last year with glitter like cellophane instead of flecks.  It was kind of difficult to photograph, for me.

Later on, I'll show you Maria Luisa layered over everything else.  There were just too many pictures already to include it in this post.  If you click HERE in a few hours, the link will be live.  I'm linking it before I forget.

As far as formula on this, I was pleasantly surprised.  It was great, as Zoya always is, and a little thin...but 2-3 coats is perfection.  The surprising part was metallics are notorious for bleeding when you try to cleanup around the edges.  These didn't bleed AT ALL.  I left a bit of a gap around the edges so I didn't have to worry and really didn't even need to.

Which ones do you need?  I think my fav's are definitely Channing(a bit shocking I know), Giovanna, Neve, and Mason.  I like them all, but those 4 are my fav's.
