MABB Weekly Beauty Question - Week 5

Each Wednesday, the Metro Atlanta Beauty Bloggers will answer a beauty-related question just for fun! This week's question is...

What are your favorite big name nail polish brands? (OPI, China Glaze, Zoya, etc)
  
I love all three examples given.  I actually have 42 China Glaze, 28 OPI, and 35 Zoya.  I'm slowly working on adding more of each of those as they're amazing.  I have none of the Nicole by OPI or the Sephora by OPI.  I could go on and on about what I love about each of them, but I think we all feel the same way.  Though sometimes there are issues with particular shades, but the blogging community is very informative about those sorts of things.


I feel those are the most popular and most obvious choices....so here's a few more....

~ I LOVE my Deborah Lippmann polishes, they're my pretties. I say everyone should own at least one.  Her polish names are the main thing that draws me in.  I'm a sucker for a good polish name.

~ Butter London, I own two, but I've tried a couple more that I wasn't happy with.  I do want more, but IDK, I hate that some Ulta stores consider it prestige and won't allow you to use a coupon on it.  If it truly is, IDK.  (maybe Mandy has some insight on that one).

~ Color Club is amazing, IMO, but not easily found in every area.  Especially mine...which is odd.  I know some have said they're starting to see it at the drugstore, but I haven't yet.  The closest Bed, Bath, & Beyond that carries it is about an hour away with traffic.  I can sometimes find the sets at Ross, but they're never labeled.  So, about the only way I can get them is to order them online or deal with traffic.

~ I only own a few Orly, but for the most part I'm still kinda "meh" about them.  I love the brand, and the HUGE bottles....but I'm still not totally sold on the brand.

 

Some of the drug store big name brands that I love/hate are...

~ Sally Hansen because of the price, most of the time.  Most of them are great, and the Insta-Dri's are awesome for stamping, but I think the Complete Salon line is a bit overpriced.  I don't know any polish fanatic that would skip a base and top coat just because it says you can.

~ Wet N Wild is great, for the price, but some of their newer polishes seem to be getting smaller in size and higher in price.  And the LE collections aren't out very long or in very many places so they become extremely hard to get.  I actually haven't seen a LE collection since On The Prowl in drugstores that I was willing to pay the higher price for.  I love the black creme, and it's a favorite among many of us, but some of the other $0.99 shades need to be cycled out, IMO.

~ Essie....oh Essie.  You have great colors, but why are you $8 in drug-stores?  That's the same price as Zoya & almost the same price as OPI. 


If I left anything out, it's because I honestly forgot.  There are a few brands that are big that I only have a few of and can't really base the brand on a few.  Those would be Nubar, Milani, Maybelline, Hard Candy, Barielle, Catrice, Essence, and Borghese.  Then there are those that I haven't even tried yet(because I has none)....GOSH, Jordana, Julep, Nails Inc., Nfu Oh, Spa Ritual, MAC, Urban Decay, Estee Lauder, YSL, and now I'm drawing a blank...

That being said, nail polish is my only accessory.  It's how I express some creativity.  I don't collect purses or shoes, but I do collect polish.
