Yes I color my hair red, I started out with red hair that turned brown as I got older. It totally doesn't suit me. For those of us who dye our hair red, we know it fades fast. This didn't really fade much, but about a month or so later I started having root issues. I had some bleach powder & decided I wanted to see what this color looked like over bleached hair.
I had the regular white bleach powder but only had 10vol developer. Rather than wait, I went ahead with the 10 vol. & ended up with this.

Okay, I did this EXACT same thing about 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI've been dying my hair red (not just red...but bright deep flaming auburn) since I was about 14. I'm naturally blonde, so one day I figured I'd try to go back to my natural color. Fail. You cannot ever go blonde from red without professional help. Like you, I had blonde roots and orange growth.
I went to the salon, paid the $150 for a color correction and have never attempted to go back to blonde again. The thing about hair bleaching though, is that it's not unusual to have to bleach it 2 and 3 times in order to get it light enough for what you need. Personally, I wasn't willing to keep on doing that. Your newest color looks awesome btw :)
